"What do you mean you don't like salmon? Why didn't I know this yet? Surely you've ate salmon around me before?" I crossed my arms and looked at Rhea.
She shrugged. "Considering I hate it. I doubt you've seen me eat it."
"Well, so chicken then?" I asked.
"Should have two options." Rhea added. We had been deciding and trying to come up with a menu for the wedding reception. And it's been tricky. Turns out we don't love a lot of the same foods. "I said we can have salmon, I'll just have chicken, Flo."
"But I want you to have both." I replied and continued my research on the laptop in front of me.
Rhea grabbed my hands. "I'm not going to eat two plates, baby. I don't even know if I'll eat one. I did just marry you, I'll probably want to fuck you on the beach away from-"
"Rhea!" I looked at her. "It's our wedding, we can't leave to go do that."
Rhea tilted her head. "Exactly it's our wedding."
"Yes." I nodded. "So we need to be there."
Rhea smiled a little. "So I'm paying thousands and thousands of dollars. Paying for everyone's dinner. The venue. The clothes. The flowers. And I can't take you away for 10 minutes to fuck you in that white dress?"
My god. I looked back at the screen, avoiding her.
Rhea chuckled. "Noted, angel."
"You know I offered to help pay..." I whispered.
"I know. I don't want you to, though." Rhea said. "I asked you to marry me."
I scoffed. "That does not mean that person has to pay for the wedding. No normal people do that."
Rhea raised her eyebrows. "Am I a normal person?"
I laughed. "I guess you're right, then. At least let me help pay for... food on the honeymoon. Which I am still waiting to hear about."
"You will when it's time." Rhea said softly. "You'll love it."
"I know." I held her hand, and Rhea leaned in to kiss me on the temple. "So... the last thing. Trevor is coming." I said.
Rhea let my hand go. "Florence."
I shrugged. "It's not a big deal, Rhea. He was like my best friend. My parents like him."
"Your parents like him?" Rhea said a bit annoyed. "They don't like me like they like him?"
I swallowed nervously. "No, that's not what I mean. They've known him for ages. They've met you like twice. That's all."
I could tell Rhea was upset, and she uncrossed her legs. "He's not coming." She flat out said. "That's the end of that."
That's the end of that.
"Rhea... come on, it's not a big deal."
"It is, Florence. How would you feel if I invited-" she thought. "Liv. That fucking- I don't know whatever her name was from the gym that time. All the girls I'd been with. How would you feel."
Ok... "that's not the point, they weren't ever close to you."
"Yeah right, Flo." Rhea stood up and started walking away.
She was really making me angry. It just came out. "I'll send him an invite then. Maybe one to Carmelo too." I looked at the laptop screen, because I couldn't look at her face.
But I heard her grumbling something, then storm down the hallway, slamming the bathroom door.
Damnit.
I slowly followed her down the hall and knocked softly on the door, and she responded quietly. "Give me a minute." She said.
So gave her a minute, sitting on the floor and against the wall outside the bathroom door.
It was maybe 3 minutes until the door opened. Rhea looked down at me. "Why are you on the floor?" She whispered and sat down in front of me.
"Just waiting so I can say sorry." I said.
Rhea looked down. "I don't want him there, Angel."
"I know."
Rhea scratched her chin. "He can come, but Flo, only if you come with me to something next week."
I tilted my head curiosity. "Where's that?"
"I booked an IVF appointment." She said. What? "Not to start the process, but, for a meet and greet sort of thing. They said they'd do some tests on us and fertility and stuff. Check you out and see with everything that's happened, if you can do it." She said it so nicely.
I smiled. "Ok." I never said quicker.
"Yeah?"
"Yes!" I wrapped my arms around her and she picked me up, hugging me back tighter.
Mmm, I loved her.
Time Jump.
"What is that?! Rhea!" I screamed it, looking at her stomach.
She looked down proudly. "What's the problem?"
My mouth opened and I shook my head. "You didn't get that."
Rhea scoffed. "I did."
"I can see that? Are you sure- is that real?" I met her and touched over the fresh tattoo. It was small. Similar. Because I had one on my body. A scar. She got my scar, as a tattoo on her own body. "Rhea..."
She scoffed. "Flo. You don't like it?"
I looked at her face. "Why did you get that?"
"Because it should be on my body anyway." She put her shirt down and smiled at me. "Oh, and-" she turned around and pulled her shirt back up, showing me her back. The tattoo there too, exactly like the small scar I had there.
"I can't believe you did that." I whispered it.
"Any other scares I haven't seen, baby? I'll get them all." She smiled, wrapped her arms around my neck, tucking my hair behind my ears.
I shook my head. "No way. No more tattoos to do with me."
Rhea tilted her head. "I'll definitely be getting more."
"Rhea."
"Florence." Rhea smirked.
I let out a breath. "Fine... I like it." I stopped hiding my smile. "Maybe I'll get another one for you."
Rhea raised her eyebrows in interest. "But I already like the one you have." Her hands roamed down my back and squeezed at my backside. Making me blush.
"Me too." I looked down.
