"I'm not leaving you." Rhea stated.

I tilted my head. "But that's what I want."

Rhea stared at me, unflinching. "Id get you something from the vending machine around the corner, not something down the street, Flo. I'm not leaving you longer than one minute."

"Please." I insisted. "I'm hungry."

"Florence... I'm not walking 20 minutes down the road to get you a packet of lollipops. You're insane."

I lied back. "But that's all I feel like." I groaned, shifting uncomfortably in this stupid bed.

Stupid hospital.

Stupid wife who won't get me lollipops.

"You better not be cursing at me in your head." Rhea warned me and I looked at her.

"You'll never know."

Rhea rolled her eyes. "Such a little-"

My doctor and midwife came into the room suddenly. "Alright, Miss Miller, let's-"

"It's Mrs Ripley." Rhea told the woman, glaring at her.

I rubbed over my face and my midwife shrugged with a fake smile. "Mrs Ripley, let's check how it's all going."

After an examination, I was nearly halfway, they guessed. I'd already been here 6 god damn hours... How much more did our boy need in there?

"Florence, your blood pressure is still increasing." My midwife told me and I sat up, because I didn't really now how to manually decrease my blood pressure...

"Is she alright? Is he alright?" Rhea quickly asked.

They didn't answer her at first, because they were checking other things. My midwife finally answered. "He's showing signs of a little bit of distress. His heart rate is a little slow, but this is nothing to be worried about. These things usually come and go, and can be managed. Try turning on your side, Flo, changing positions often can help him get more comfortable."

Rhea stood up. "They're alright, yeah? They're gonna be fine?"

The midwife looked at Rhea and I just rolled to my side, testing the new position. "So far, Rhea, everything is fine. I'll come check on you every twenty minutes, otherwise, If you notice or feel anything different, let us know. Keep the fluids up." And they left.

Rhea sat down beside me, watching me. "Are you ok? Please, be honest?" Her voice was shaky and I could tell she was getting really nervous and really worried.

"I'm good." I grabbed her hand and she held it back. "Don't be so sad."

"I'm not sad." She replied. "I'm just- I'm so fucking worried, baby."

"You know you're not helping me... I'm the pregnant one." I told her.

"I know." She got out. "I know and I'm here for you for everything, baby. Im sorry, I just-"

"I know." I answered for her. "It's scary. It's new. And it's really big."

Rhea smiled. "You're really big."

I gasped. "And what does that mean?" I touched my stomach.

"Im just kidding, baby. You're so much sexier like this... maybe I should have you knocked up all the time." She lent in and kissed my temple.

I softly rolled my eyes. "That's so much sperm-"

She let my hand go, now pissed off, which was my goal.
