120: Gems VS Juvia

Normal P.O.V

Gems was very nervous going to the guild hall after that break. He didn't know how to face so many people. He wasn't ready, but he had to be there to start his plan.

This was the beginning of his mission. His mission to get his parents back.

Gems was in awe when he saw the newly constructed guild hall from the insides, it looked beautiful and shiny according to him. He did exchange smiles and waves with some of his friends. He wanted to talk to Freed but he was busy with Laxus.

Gray was with him all the time.

Gems peeked at the request board and saw the request made by Seth. Gems walked towards the request board and was about to get that job until Gray interrupted him.

“Let's have a coffee.” Gray said with his puppy eyes and Gems couldn't resist and nodded with a sigh.

Gray pulled him by his wrist and they sat in the two empty seats infront of the guild bar where Mirajane was. “Good to see you Gems. We missed you here.” Mirajane smiled as she served Gray and Gems a coffee.

“I missed being here.” Gems replied.

“Say Gems, its been a while. Wanna go a mission?” Gray asked and Gems almost choked on his coffee. Gems just looked at Gray and didn't say anything.

“Umm..”

“What?”

“I was thinking...”

“What were you thinking?”

“Gray... I was thinking about taking a solo mission, a simple one.” Gems said and Gray looked like he was taken aback a bit. “Now! I didn't mean that I don't wanna go on a mission with you or anything like that.” he added, but Gray was confused.

“But I wanted to take a mission with you.” Gray said as he put his coffee down. 

“I know, and I am not denying. We can go tomorrow. But I felt like taking a solo mission today.” Gems said as he put his coffee away and looked at Gray. “You see ever since last year I haven't been on a single solo mission. And there are lot of things going around in my mind, which I need to clear off. So I thought going solo would be resourcefull for me.” Gems said.

“But Gemsie-”

“Gray... I have been training non stop, I need to test how much I have improved. I want to check if I can hang alone in the situation or not. There's only one way to test that.... Please... Gray... Please?” Gems said as he looked at Gray, trying his best to convince Gray. Gems needed to go on that solo mission at all costs.

“I think Gems is right.” Mirajane said. “Gray, stop being so paranoid.” she added.

“Gray, I promise I'll be careful. And the mission I want to go on is an easy one and I'll be back within a couple of hours.” Gems said as he put his hand on Gray's. “Gray please... Please...” Gems added while looking at Gray with puppy eyes.

Gray didn't know what to say.

“Gray.. Come on please trust me.” Gems said. Gray just rolled his eyes in response.

“Fine.” Gray replied. “But you better be back before sunset.” he added. Gems sighed in relief and cursed himself internally because he knew that he wouldn't be coming back at all.

“I promise!” Gems faked excitement.

“What mission are you taking?” Gray asked.

“Don't worry its an easy one. There are some bandits smuggling drugs in the train tunnels which are under construction in the mountain area. The client wants the tunnel cleared.” Gems said and Gray nodded in responsed.
