After the accident took place, Fairy Tail was shaken to its core. When Makarov got to know about the accident he was shocked, he considered Gems as one of his children, just like everyone else.

The day the accident took place, was one of the worst days for Gray. Gray was a crying mess and had lost all the emotional control he had on himself. It was really hard for Natsu and Erza to calm Gray down.

Gems was Gray's mate and now Gray had no one with him. Gray threw up knowing the fact that Gems was really gone, Gems had left him.

It was really upto Erza and Natsu to help Gray, since after Gems, they were the closest ones to Gray.

Everyone was feeling bad for Gray, but only Gray himself knew what he was feeling and what he had lost, with Gems going away. Gems was Gray's everything, and no one else would be able to fill the void that Gems had left empty.
