As I am sitting in the room waiting for Kate, I start to cry. I had really thought that I had had a chance, but apparently I was wrong. I stop crying when Kate comes into the room.
"Hello, Wednesday."
"Hello."
"What do you think happened out there?"
"Well, I failed, plain and simple."
"Why do you think you failed?"
"Because I was in a battle to the death when I just want to go home! (I started to cry again)"
"Was that what made you vulnerable when you were being attacked?"
"No, I wasn't 'vulnerable'. I just was put up against a strong opponent."
"You said you wanted to go home. Why is that? Haven't you enjoyed training here?"
"Yes, I have, but I miss my family. I miss my home. Mostly though, I miss my fiancé. Lucas means everything to me. I can wait to see him again."
"Ok, Wednesday. Last question. If given a chance to prove yourself, would you take it?"
"Even though I have enjoyed being here and learning more about my power, I wouldn't take it. I want to go back to my family."
"Thank you, Wednesday."
