today, joshua took me out on a date.

we went to lunch then walked around all the shops in town, our hands never separating.

we walked for hours, talking about how much we missed each other. eventually, it was night time, and we went to dinner.

after dinner, joshua took me to the little woods area behind his home.

and, to my great surprise, there were fairy lights strung all around, rose petals scattered, and little candles surrounding a blanket.

then, joshua picked me up bridal-style, carrying me to the blanket.

both of us were giggling messes.

we laid down next to one another, me snuggling up against him since it was a bit cool outside.

but, then, he rolled over, and he was on top of me.

and, he kissed me.

we kissed for an hour.

when we pulled back, our lips were swollen, mine were even blue.

but, then i told him i had something for him.

he smiled and nodded, rolling off of me and pulling me into his lap so i was facing him.

i reached into my pocket and i pulled out a ring.

he started crying, and i did too.

i told him i loved him more than i thought i was capable of loving someone.

i told him one day, i want to be his husband.

i told him i would never stop loving, trusting, and having faith with him.

i told him the ring signified all the things i said tonight because i know he doesn't think he deserves me.

but i'm the one that doesn't deserve him.

not the other way around.

he accepted the ring, and i slid it onto his finger.

he then told me the next ring that would be exchanged would be an engagement ring.
