today, joshua and i decided we'd do something a little out of the box.
we went ice skating.
i was incredibly nervous. i knew i was going to slip and fall and embarrass myself in front of him, but he assured me there was nothing i could do to make him any less in love with me.
what's funny is that exactly the opposite of what i thought was going to happen, happened.
he was the one slipping and falling, and i had to help keep him up.
he stuck his tongue out at me as he saw i was trying to suppress my giggles.
he then decided he'd try and impress me by racing his brother, only to fall hard on the ice and receive a black eye.
so, we left, went back to the dun home, and i took care of him.
i got him ice for his bruises and eye, put on his favorite movies, and made him soup.
i now know what it's like to be a parent caring for their injured child.
"i'm sorry you fell, baby," i giggled as i kissed the top of his head while i stood behind the couch.
"did it at least look cool?" he asked hopefully.
"so cool," i giggled, hugging him from behind and kissing his temple. "suuuuper cute, too."
"ok good," he said.
oh, how i love him dearly.
