today, was...

an awful day.

first, i couldn't find my 'josh's boyfren' sweater. i was gonna wear it today. it always make him laugh.

but, i had to settle on one of my five t shirts.

i arrived only a few minutes late to the home, but i was a sweaty mess from sprinting my way there.

though, i saw joshua walking over through the kitchen and i quickly ran over to him.

"hi, honey!" i said, kissing his cheek. "are we still on for toni-"

joshua just bumped my shoulder shoving past me, walking out the front and slamming the door.

i couldn't help but cry a bit.

abi asked me why i was crying, and i said no reason.

she said she knew it was because of josh being 'mean.'

she said she'd talk to him about learning to treat his boyfriend with love and respect.

though, i told her not to mention it.

after our school day, we had dinner, though, after asking if i was going to be there and his mother said yes, he did not show up.

something 'came up.'

"honey, isn't it date night?" momma dun asked me.

i looked down. "y-yes," i said quietly.

"why aren't you guys doing anything??"

"h-he's a little frustrated with me r-right now," i said, sniffling.

"abi, ashley, jordan," momma dun said. "how about you go do the dishes?"

abi started to protest, saying she wanted to stay with me, but ashley quickly took her.

after they were gone, momma dun continued our conversation.

"why's he frustrated, dear?"

"h-he didn't like that abigail only understood w-when i taught her. a-and he didn't like it w-when she said i looked better, even though we all know that isn't true. h-he said he hates me f-for stealing his sister," i sniffled. "i-i don't know if i should keep doing the job, momma."

momma dun seemed to be getting frustrated.

though, not at me.

but at josh.

"he said he hated you?"

"y-yes," i said quietly.

"and that you're 'stealing abi' from him?"

"y-yes."

"we're gonna have a talk," momma said, immediately calling joshua. "i don't care where you are, joshua william. come home now."

and i'm assuming the mom voice worked, because josh's car was pulling up the driveway within ten minutes.

"go wait in the kitchen, honey," she said, kissing my forehead. "why don't you make yourself some tea?"

i sniffled and nodded.

i could overhear their conversation loud and clear:

"what now, mom?" josh groaned.

"don't you 'what now?' me! why on EARTH would you tell your boyfriend who loves you with all his heart that you hate him?!"

"he's stealing my sister from me!" josh exclaimed.

"drop the toddler excuse," momma dun said. "he isn't stealing abi from you! they're just alike and abigail has never been around someone like her! just let her hug him every one in a while!"

"everything between her and i were fine until he came along," josh said.

"joshua william dun, i do not want to hear you say anything like that ever again. that boy absolutely adores you! he spent hours decorating the house for when you got home! he spent absolutely all of his money to buy you drumsticks! he doesn't have his biological family to tell him he loves him, and for you, the one person he will admit loves him, to say you hate him is inexcusable. especially over a silly reason like that."

"it's not like it hurt him," josh said, rolling his eyes.

"he had a panic attack while he was teaching abi today! she had to call me because she thought he needed to go to the hospital it was so bad! you left a bruise on his shoulder from bumping into him so hard trying to shove your way past him this morning! he was crying all throughout dinner!" she exclaimed.

"wait... really?" he asked, looking up.

"yes, really! i know i didn't raise you that way, joshua. you've always been so sweet. but for you to treat the boy that puts in his all just for you like that, it's not something i want to be known as the contributor to."

josh sighed, rubbing his face stressfully. "is he still here?"

momma dun nodded. "the poor boy's still hopeful you'll have a date night 'even though you're mad at him.'"

but, i was gone by that time.

i didn't want to face joshua at the moment.

i just texted momma i wouldn't be coming to work tomorrow, knowing joshua would be there.

she said that is perfectly fine.

so, here i lay in bed.

not knowing if i should return to my boyfriends arms or not.
