i didn't have work today since it's saturday, so josh and i opted for another fun little date type thing.
basketball.
i was captain of the varsity team in high school for three years, and received several offers to play at different colleges, but my parents would not allow me to go.
but, that's ok.
the music thing is working out.
anyways.
josh was pretty confident he was going to win given he's much more muscular and taller than me, even though he knew everything about my experience with basketball.
after all, we went to the same high school.
we went to the courts in the apartment complex, happy to find them empty.
"wanna play p-i-g to get warmed up or just go straight into one-on-one?" i asked.
josh scoffed. "i don't need to warm up, ty."
"ok," i laughed, chest-passing the ball the ball to him.
he was taken aback by the amount of force.
"i'll let you start first," i smirked.
he started dribbling and started to drive one way then crossed over, but i easily stole the ball from him.
"what the fuck?! how'd you do that?!" he asked curiously.
i our up a shot from half court and made it in. "your eyes were looking to the left while you were going to the right, baby. rule number one in basketball: never let the defender know where you're going," i said.
i then took the ball and let josh start to defend me, giggling as i easily drove past him and made an easy layup.
"ty!" he exclaimed. "how'd you do that?!"
"you weren't even watching my face," i giggled. "i literally had my eyes pointed directly towards where i was about to go."
"you look really good in basketball shorts, ok?" josh pouted, crossing his arms.
i blushed and giggled, hugging him tightly and kissing his nose. "awww, does baby jishwa quit?"
"no!" josh exclaimed, quickly taking the ball from my hands. "i'm gonna win."
"ok, baby," i said. "whatever you say."
"damnit!" he yelled when i stole the ball as he was dribbling it and shot a three-pointer.
i giggled and sighed. "6-0."
"shut up," he said.
"first to 21?" i asked.
he nodded.
22-0 later, josh was getting grumpy.
"aww, come here, joshieee," i giggled, forcing him to wrap his arms around me. "it's okayyyy, baby. you'll get better."
josh pouted.
i must admit, he's adorable when he's grumpy.
but, he says the same about me, so...
"will you kiss me, jishwa??" i asked with puppy dog eyes.
"only if you don't tell anyone i lost," he said.
"deal," i smiled.
he giggled and wrapped his arms around my waist, kissing me deeply.
it's weird that me, the shorter, much skinnier one, always wins at anything we do that has to do with sports even though josh is so tall and muscular.
but hey, i'm not complaining.
i mean, josh is... fast.
he's fast.
and he can run for a really long time, too.
he can lift really, really heavy things.
and, i mean, he just looks intimidating.
have you seen the guy?
he's my big teddy bear, and i'm his snuggle bug.
we're so cute.
