today i had group again.

a girl voluntarily sat by me.

her name is maci.

she even smiled at me after the session was over. i think she's new here.

i went to the cafeteria today and sat there since they were cleaning my room, and maci sat by me.

we didn't say anything. we just ate silently next to each other.

but, eventually she said something.

"i-i'm maci," she smiled.

"i-i'm tyler," i said.

"i'm new here," she said.

"i-it's ok. i-i kind of am too."

"do you like it?" she asked.

i shrugged. "i-i'd much rather be with my fiancé, b-but my nurse is nice s-so it isn't absolutely terrible."

"you're engaged?!" she exclaimed excitedly.

i smiled slightly and nodded.

"tell me about them!"

"w-well, h-his name is josh. w-we met in ninth grade but barely even talked until last year. a-and then january 1st of this year h-he kissed me and the rest is history," i smiled shyly.

"what does he look like??"

"i-i have pictures i-if you maybe wanna see..."

"of course!!"

i nodded and we went back to my room. i showed her all the pictures of us together, unable to help but smile as i looked at them.

"you two are so cute together!!" she exclaimed. "what's he like?"

"h-he's the nicest boy in the world. h-he looks really really intimidating but he's really just a big teddy bear. h-he always wants to kiss and hug. he's really thoughtful and romantic, too. he takes me out on a date twice a week. or, he did before i was put here. he's so goofy and cheesy and adorable and i just love him more than life itself."

"awwwwwww!!"

maci said she's never dated anyone. she's nineteen too. i said that it's ok. she'll find love one day.

i know i did.
