today, i didn't have any plans on getting out of bed.
joshua was no longer mine.
i had absolutely no money.
there is no point.
around 1:00, there was a knock at my door.
it was joshua.
i could tell by the tune he knocked to.
then i remembered.
the jacket.
he must be here for the jacket he bought me.
so i grabbed it and i went to the door.
joshua said hello.
i nodded.
that's when he broke down.
he sank to his knees and begged me for forgiveness.
i asked him what for and he said everything.
he said for kissing emily, for not calling, for not kissing me when i asked him to.
everything.
he was sobbing again.
i helped him get on his feet, and i led him inside. i helped him lay down on the couch, then i got him some water and a cold rag.
i put the rag across his forehead and helped him sip his water.
he asked me why i was doing this.
i said because i loved him.
he said he loved me more than he had ever loved anything.
his family, drumming, everything.
he said i was perfect.
he asked me if he could please kiss me.
i nodded.
he leaned forward and pressed a kiss against my lips.
being honest, it hurt knowing i'm not he only lips his have touched.
but i didn't say anything.
he asked me if i would like to go out on a date sometime.
he said he would take me wherever i dreamed of.
no matter how extravagant or expensive.
no matter how long the drive or how little interest he had in it.
he was going to take me there.
i asked him to take me to my grandmother's grave.
she accepted me for who i was.
she supplied me with all of my needs after the rest of my family disowned me.
and when i tried to attend her funeral, i was informed i had to leave or my family would call the police.
joshua quickly nodded, telling me he would pick me up tomorrow at 11.
i'll see you soon, grandma.
