today, momma dun and joshua both called me.

josh called first.

"hello?"

"h-hi," he said.

"hi, joshie," i replied.

"i miss my snuggle bug," he pouted.

i giggled and sighed as i crawled under the covers of my hotel bed, the phone up to my ear. "your snuggle bug misses you more."

"noooo. that's not possible."

i giggled again, and i could hear him doing the same.

"but really," he said. "i miss you a lot."

"i miss you too, honey. how's everything going?"

"um... ok. just, it's kinda boring when you're not around. i don't have anything to hold."

"i wish you were here to hold me, joshua," i said, my fingers running through my hair.

"i'm gonna throw you a surprise party for when you get back," he said.

i giggled and sighed. "baby, how is it gonna be a surprise if you just told me about it?"

"oh," he said defeatedly. "damnit."

i laughed and smiled.

"well just... expect flowers or something."

i smiled and nodded even though he couldn't see me. "alright, josh. i love you."

"i love you more," he said.

"no, i love you more."

"noooo, i love you more."

"nooooooo, i love you more."

"i love you more."

"i love you mo-"

"tyler hang up the damn phone," mark groaned. he was in the other bed.

i giggled and stuck my tongue out at him.

"well, i gotta go before mark attacks me. i really, really love you, baby. goodnight," i said.

"goodnight, honey. i love you too," he said, making a kissing sound into the phone before hanging up.

about an hour later, momma dun called.

"hey, momma!" i said into the phone.

"hey, tyler! how's the trip??"

"it's quite fun, but i miss you all," i said. "i got off the phone with josh a little while ago. h-how is he?"

"he didn't leave the house but once today," she explained. "but he was incredibly, incredibly helpful. he did the laundry, cooked dinner, he even took abbie out for ice cream after he got off the phone with you. you put him in a really good mood by just talking to him."

i smiled and blushed. "i'm glad."

"are you feeling any better?" she asked. "emotionally?"

"um... yeah, actually. after hearing he was helpful and didn't go out, i-i feel a lot better."

"oh, good!" she exclaimed. "well, i'll let you get back to your trip. i love you!"

"love you too, momma," i smiled.

we hung up and mark and i went down to the cafe in the hotel lobby to get coffee.

we caught up on a lot, having not seen each other in a while. then, melanie and ashley joined us, and we all just talked about our lives.

we learned mel and ash are now officially dating. (but we all knew that a while ago.)

i told them about josh.

and mark just made jokes about how lonely he is.

typical night.
