Your POV
'Hold the elevator' you shouted as you ran as fast as you could without superspeed. Your stomach dropped as you saw the doors start to close but lightened as you saw a small foot stop them.
'Thank you so much. Gosh I'm so late already.' You said to the elevator doors basically as you still hadn't seen your saviour.
'It's no issue. What are you late for?' The stranger asked. When you finally looked around at her, you realised how beautiful she was. Long, loose blond curls where tied up in a neat ponytail. Eyebrows crinkled as she said the question and then released after talking. Her blue eyes bore into yours in a kind not intimidating manner. Glasses framed her face which she subconsciously pushed up her nose. Cute was the word to describe her.
'First day at work. My boss is going to kill me.' You said lightly, watching her blue eyes check you out slightly and making you smirk to yourself.
'And who's your boss? I might know them as I work here.' She looked back up into your eyes.
'Her name is Kara Danvers. She is supposedly very kind but how kind she is to someone who's late on their first day is an unanswered question.' You giggled softly.
'Well I can answer that for you. She doesn't care if your late, it doesn't really matter as long as you don't make a habit of it.' She laughed a sweet laugh, obviously knowing something you don't.
'And how would you know that?'
'Well, my name is Kara Danvers nice to meet you. You must be (Y/n)(Y/L/n).' You stood in shock for a split second.
'Oh god we really should've done introductions before I said all of that.' She laughed again, it flowing out of her open mouth like a song.
'It's fine. I-' she was cut off by a loud screech of the elevator. After a few seconds of us both waiting for something to happen, the elevator dropped about a floor, fast and obviously uncontrolled. You heard Kara yelp slightly.
'Shit I think the elevator is broken.' You said forgetting the person in front of you is your boss and you probably shouldn't be swearing in front of her.
'Rao and my powers are out at the moment.' She mumbled breathily, making it unbearable from human ears but not from yours.
'What did you just say?' You stopped dead in your tracks. You had encountered a few of the other superheroes over the world as you moved from place to place, continually moving so no one could figure out who you were. You wracked your brain for known superheroes in national city and came up with one.
'Supergirl.' You said simply.
Her face crumbled in anxiety and she let out a shaky,' What do you mean?'
You noticed her nerves and gathered you could talk to your boss about her identity later when you weren't stuck in an elevator with her.
'Oh I just meant it would be great if we had her right now.' You justified.
'Yeah- yeah true.' She said letting out a stuttery breath. However, her breathing didn't go back to normal and the anxiety never left.
'Miss Danvers are you claustrophobic?' You asked in the most sympathetic tone you could muster.
'N-no. Oh screw it. Professionalism is gone for the time being. Yes I may be slightly claustrophobic.' She said, slowly sliding down the wall of the elevator until she hit the floor.
'Okay. Okay. I've hit the emergency button but it may take a while. Do you think I can hold your hands Kara?' You said, calling her by her first name because she needed you to comfort her, not be her employee for a second.
'Ye-ah.' She closes her eyes briefly, clearly trying to wash away the waves of fear.
'Now I want you to focus on 3 things that are real. Right here with us. Can you do that for me?' You asked in a gentle tone, trying not to scare her more than she already is.
'The walls closing in-' she started.
'No, Kara. Real. You and me. Come on.' You said quietly.
'Okay. Okay. Your soft hands,' you smiled at that,' your body. Your hot body,'you blushed, knowing in a state of her panic she forgot she was your boss,' and your eyes.' She finished.
'Good. Now continue to focus on those okay. I'm just going to try and talk through the emergency line. Hopefully someone will pick up.' You said to her softly.
'Okay. Come back though.' She said.
'I will Kara. Don't you worry.' You said.
Praying to God someone picked up, you pressed the button.
Static noise was the only reply. You felt your heart drop slightly.
'No one picked up did they?' Kara asked.
'No, they didnt.' You sighed, defeated.
'Oh rao.' She said mainly to herself.
'Look okay I'll get us out of here. I will.' You decided there and then that your powers were the only thing that could help right now. Exposing yourself to your new boss does not seem like a fabulous idea, but she said she had powers, so maybe she is a superhero too? It didn't matter. You had to get her out quickly.
'How?' She sucked in a forceful breath.
'Okay umm. I'm going to show you something. You can't tell anyone. I swear you can't. If you do, which I will understand I guess, I'll have to leave and never come back. And I've done that way too many times in my life. Okay?' You said almost in one breath.
'You're scaring me (Y/n). What do you mean?'
'It's better if I show you.' You took a deep breath, knowing what you were about to do would jeopardise your safety but didn't really care at that moment.
You grabbed onto the sides of each elevator door and with all of your strength tried to pull them apart. Inch by inch, they slowly tore apart, and you only stopped until a person could fit through the gap.
'You- you have powers?' You heard a tentative voice from behind you.
'Would you believe me if I said I worked out a lot?' You asked sarcastically.
'Nope. I know powers when I see them.'
'Because you have them right? You're Supergirl?' You asked, trying not to put much pressure into the question.
'How did you know so quickly?' She wondered out loud.
'Well you obviously didn't know I had superhearing when you said your powers were out at the moment.' You said with a small smirk.
'Oh gosh yes I need to be more careful.' Kara admitted.
'Hmm I think I need to be the careful one. I just showed my powers to a complete stranger.' You said.
'We don't have to be strangers.' Kara said in a tone. A flirty tone? Or was that you dreaming?
'Come on then Supergirl. Let's get out of here so we can get to know each other.' You both seem to forget that Kara was your boss and dating her isnt really a great idea, but your head seemed to fill with images of a potential future anyway.
'Hold on.' You added as she wrapped her strong arms around you. The position this put you in sent butterflies to your stomach and you thanked the lord her powers were out as she wouldn't hear your racing heart. However, you could hear hers speed up and it sent a grin to your face. You quickly and efficiently zapped a web up to the next doors you could see in the dark shaft.
Kara gasped when she heard the web attach to the wall.
'Are you okay with this? I'm going to swing us up there?' You asked for her consent.
'No. It's not that. That's fine. It's just- you're her?' She said, dumbfounded.
'I'm who?'
'Spider girl.' She said.
'Wow that's what the news is calling me?' You chuckled lightly.
'You're the one who leaves webs all over the city and ties up all those aliens.'
'Guilty.'
'Wow you make my job so much easier. Not the DEO's though. They've been looking for you everywhere.'
'DEO?' You asked curiously.
'I'll explain later.' As she said that, you leapt off of the elevator and swung onto the small ledge. You hoped to god there weren't many people on this floor who could question you about how you opened the metal doors and subsequently left bent doors behind. Thankfully, your wishes were granted as you and Kara stepped into an empty hallway.
'Well I guess I should take you to your new office.' Kara said sounding a bit disappointed.
'I guess you should.'
'For a second there I forgot I was your boss. It sucks.' Kara let out.
'And why does it suck Miss Danvers?' You struggled to contain your grin as you sarcastically starting up the formalities.
'Because I can't ask you out.' She replied simply, leaving you shocked.
'Well that's a shame. I'll just have to make it really difficult for you to not.' You said back in the same flirty tone she used.
And you did just that. Not much in the first few weeks as you were too busy trying to learn the rope, but after you openly flirted with the blond. You brought her lunch and made excuses to visit her office pretty much every day, but neither of you made a move, too scared the other was just teasing and didn't actually want a real relationship.
It wasn't until you were ill and didn't go to work before Kara did something about her attraction towards you.
'(Y/n) what's wrong are you okay?' Kara burst into your apartment accidentally using superstrength in the process.
'Ouch Kara what the hell that didn't help my headache at all.' You had resulted in only calling her Miss Danvers when you felt like it because you had become quite friendly with her and her friends. Many game nights had been held at your apartment, that's how Kara knew where you lived.
'Oh rao I'm sorry. Are you okay?'
'Not really. Throwing up is not a nice way to start the morning.' You said back in a snotty voice. You didn't want her to see you like this. It was unattractive.
'I brought soup.' She stepped further into your living room.
'Thank you Kara. You really shouldn't have. Shouldn't you be at work?' She looked down with a blush.
'I maybe might've given everyone the day off of work so I could see you.' She admitted shyly.
After she said that, you couldn't help but feel a surge of the love you felt for her and tried to push down everyday. But in your sick state, you didn't have the energy to push it down anymore.
You tried to get up from the sofa you were lying on but struggled.
'Come here.' You said to Kara as your failed attempts failed again.
'Okay. Why?' She said.
You looked into the familiar blue eyes and your nerves ate at you, wondering if this was the right thing to do. Your heart won over your nerves.
'Kiss me.' You whispered, knowing she would still be able to hear you.
Not wasting a beat, she pressed her lips to yours.
