"Yo King."

"Hm?"

"I'm going to ask you some questions."

"No."

"Yes."

"No."

"You don't have a choice."

"Shut up."

"Make me."

The setter looked over with a tired and annoyed face before moving his body so he was facing the older. He gave him a pointed look, telling him to start asking whatever he wanted to know. Seriously, Kageyama thought, he was too nosy.

"First, when was the last time you slept? And I mean more than an hour."

This question surprised the setter as he sat silent for some time, trying to think back to the last time he had actually slept.

"Almost a month ago." he concluded.

"And what's going on at your home?"

"That's none of your business."

"Tell me."

"No."

"Yes."

"I'm not doing this again."

"Yes you are."

"Will you-"

He was about to tell the older to shut up, his arm about to reach out and grab the middle blocker's collar, but Tsuki reacted first and grabbed the setter's wrist, pushing him back until Kageyama's back was against the grass and he was hovering over him. He held the setter's wrist above his head whilst smirking.

"Get the hell off of me."

"Tell me first."

"Why?"

"I don't know."

"That makes a change."

"You're avoiding the question."

"I'm not telling you anything if you don't have a reason in wanting to know."

"Wow, that actually sounded intelligent."

"Shut up French Fry."

"Ouch."

Tsuki sat back up, pulling the younger along with him. He let go of his grip and watched as Kageyama sat just as he had in the gym that morning, his eyes dull and legs curled up to his chest.

"Seriously Kageyama, you've got to tell someone. Everyone's worried about you."

Kageyama was taken aback by the use of his name. He didn't think he had ever heard Tsukishima call him by his actual name, usually it was King or another insult.

"You just said-"

"I know what I said."

Kageyama looked over at the middle blocker and found that he looked serious, staring right back at him. It was clear he wasn't letting the topic go. He sighed with resignation.

"My parents are... they're going through some stuff right now. I mean, they have for as long as I can remember but this time it's... it's different. The arguing is way worse than normal and sometimes it gets-"

"Physical?" Tsuki offered after a moment of silence, understanding when Kageyama made a small nod of his head.

"And they said they were gonna sort some things out. I mean, even I've told them to just get a divorce. They didn't like that. So as well as trying to out-scream each other they have a go at me when they run out of things to say. My sister's staying at her college right now. I told her not to come back when she visited a few months ago. She's older so she's been through more than I have. And I... I'm shutting down! I can't eat or sleep or feel anything. I'm just so numb and tired all the goddamn time. School is piling up on me and we have exams soon. We have to practise for our next tournament and I don't have the energy to even toss a simple set like I used to. I haven't had more than an hour's sleep per night in weeks and anything I eat wants to come right back up. I'm so tired Tsuki! I just... I can't keep living like this."

Kageyama didn't seem to realise all that he had blurted out until he finished. His eyes widened and he clamped his mouth shut, turning away and looking back out onto the horizon.

Tsuki let him have a moment to himself, digesting and going through everything Kageyama had just told him. So, his parents had a difficult relationship and he's alone in the house with them since his sister is at college. Considering how long this has been going on, the toxic household has definitely had some side effects on Kageyama, probably adding to his self-consciousness and quiet nature as well as his angry side. Also, his parents are now turning against him, most likely the only thing that unites them, and Kageyama is seriously unwell and in need of help. He has insomnia and is struggling to eat and is mentally shutting down. And... he had just called him Tsuki.

Why this nickname caught his attention amongst the other things, he didn't know.

"Ki- Kageyama."

"What?" the setter mumbled, not looking over at the older.

"I... If we head back now we can grab some dinner and be in time for afternoon practise."

The younger seemed relieved that he didn't push the subject further, seeming still overwhelmed by everything that he had shared. He stood up and took a deep breath in and out before turning to head back down the hill. However, he stopped and looked with confusion at the middle blocker ahead of him, who was standing still and seemed to be debating something.

The next thing he knew, two arms were wrapped around him, pulling him in for a hug. He was frozen with shock for a second but relaxed into the hold and hugged back, wrapping his arms around Tsukishima and lying his head on the taller's shoulder. It was actually really nice and comforting: he couldn't remember the last time he hugged anyone. People just assumed he wasn't the hugging type but he was actually extremely touch deprived.

"I'm glad you told me." Tsuki said before letting go and walking down the hill, grabbing his bag on the way.
