Once Kageyama had calmed down, Tsuki said they should probably head to Kageyama's house and grab some of his things before going to his own. The setter agreed and sat on the sofa whilst Tsuki knocked on the door of the bedroom, announcing they would be taking their leave.
Sobo exited the bedroom with a pitiful look towards Tobio before she patted Kei's shoulder and headed into the kitchen.
"Here, take these." She handed them a bag full of an assortment of baked goods and pastries. "And remember to give me lots of texts and calls so I know how you're both doing. And come to the café as often as you can. Please look after yourselves."
At this, she headed round to the front of the sofa and crouched down in front of the setter who looked up with a broken expression.
"I'm sorry." he said in a whisper. "I've done nothing but cause trouble for you."
"Oh Tobio, you have nothing to apologise for. Okay? Now dear, it's time for you to start taking care of yourself, alright?"
"Okay, thankyou Sobo."
"Always dear. Now you two get going before it gets dark."
They said goodbye and Sobo watched them walk down the stairs hand in hand, Kageyama sticking close to the older due to the cold air. She watched them with a smile- glad that they had both found someone to care about- before she shut the door.
As they were walking along the street to Kageyama's house, the setter began to frown and close his eyes as he inhaled sharply. The middle blocker stopped and turned to look at the younger, alarmed at the pain present on his face.
"Hey, what's wrong?"
"You know t-that concussion? I don't think that shouting did... did much... catch me..." he managed to get out before he collapsed.
Tsuki's eyes widened and he dropped the bag he was carrying. He caught Kageyama as he fell to the ground; with his arms underneath him he picked him up bridal style. The setter's head fell against his shoulder and his breaths were heavy but constant. The blond tried to wake him up but nothing worked.
"Damn." he muttered as he looked at the direction they were heading in then to the street just next to them.
He managed to pick up the bag of food Sobo had given them before he turned direction and headed down the side street that lead to his house. It was a shorter walk and they had arrived in just over 5 minutes since he was walking relatively fast. Thankfully it was a dull and cold evening so the streets were relatively empty.
When he reached his house he had to kick the door with his foot since his arms were occupied. His mother opened the door and her eyes widened at the boy in her son's arms. She took the bag he was carrying whilst Tsuki carried Kageyama right upstairs to his room. He lay him down on the bed as gently as he could, brushing away the hair that had fallen over the setter's eyes before he checked his pulse and headed downstairs.
"Why is he unconscious?"
"He passed out on the way to his house. We were going to get a few things but then his concussion kicked in and he passed out. Can you watch over him whilst I go to his place?"
"Okay, but be careful and come back as soon as you can. If he wakes up I'll explain where you went."
"Thanks, I'll see you later."
Tsuki headed back out and to Kageyama's house. He walked pretty fast due to the cold air. He arrived and found the door unlocked; he braced himself for what he would see inside. It would be a compliment to say it was a mess.
There was broken glass everywhere and drops of blood on the floor. Empty bottles littered the living room and the window on the backdoor was cracked. But what caught his eye was the splash of bright colour on the floor. He went over to it before picking it up and slipping it into his pocket. He tried to stop himself from imagining what had happened in that hallway to Tobio, so he headed straight upstairs and into the setter's room, glad it was clean and empty. There were signs of struggle downstairs- revealing to him that the police had apprehended the parents- but it was fine in here.
He went over to Kageyama's wardrobe and pulled out a few t-shirts, hoodies and tank tops alongside jeans, joggers and shorts. He also grabbed two pairs of sneakers before heading over to his drawers and getting out underwear. He then went into the bathroom and grabbed the toothbrush before-
He paused, looking at the sight on the small sink. On the edge of the sink was a small razor that was used for shaving, its end was tinted red and there were speckles of the same burgundy colour on the enamel. He gulped and turned away from the sight before heading out of the bathroom and seeing if there was anything else he should take. He picked up Kageyama's schoolbag and volleyball jersey but left his uniform, knowing he wouldn't be returning to school for a while.
With a final sweep he headed back downstairs, heading out the door without looking around him.
