"I'm gonna be blunt. You don't look good."

"No shit."

The duo had woken up that morning after a good night's sleep. The heating was on making the bedroom cosy against the cool breeze that drifted through the open door. It was a calm morning as outside was still dark and quiet; the teens took their time waking up before sitting up and stretching.

Okay, that's a lie. For Kei, this was how his morning went. For Tobio on the other hand, his morning had started at 3:50AM. He was tired, cold, and anxious. He couldn't remember having any nightmares- only really uncomfortable dreams- but he remembered waking up with short breaths and a racing heart.

"How long have you been up?" Tsuki asked as he put on his glasses.

"A while..." the younger replied vaguely, pulling the cover up to his chin as he felt a cold shiver overcome him.

The blond just sighed and pulled Kageyama into a hug, cuddling close as he ran a hand through the jet black locks in hope of easing the tension he could sense in the younger. Every so often he would kiss his lips, forehead, or cheek to bring a small smile to the setter's face. Tobio welcomed the warmth of the middle blocker- finding he was always the perfect temperature- and allowed himself to doze off.

"Not for too long because we have school." he mumbled into Tsuki's neck as he rested his head on the blond's chest.

"Okay."

Kageyama managed to get a light sleep for about twenty minutes before he felt Tsuki stir as he reached for his phone on the bedside to check the time. It was just before half-six meaning it would be a rush for school.

"I said not too long. Now we're gonna be late."

"You needed it." the blond argued. "But if you're that tired you can have a day off."

"... that sounds so inviting right now." the younger confessed.

"So, is that a yes?"

"... No." Kageyama looked determined.

"And here I thought you'd take every opportunity to have time off school."

"I'd rather be bored at school than be alone with my thoughts. Especially right now."

"Still feeling off?"

"A little."

"How about a shower? I'll text Daichi saying we'll be a little late, alright?"

"Okay."

Kageyama pushed himself off the bed, letting out a huge yawn he tried to hide. Tsuki pulled down his hand and kissed him, making Kageyama smile as he put his arms over the blond's shoulders as he was pulled closer by his waist. Tsuki's hands felt warm on his skin and he hummed in content when one of his hands gently ran up his back.

"Better?" asked Tsuki when they parted.

"Mhm." Kageyama replied when he leaned in for another kiss, the blond gladly complying.

"I love you." he heard the older mutter against his neck when he pressed a short kiss against it.

"Me too. But come on. Get changed whilst I shower. And make sure to dress warm."

"Who are you, my mother?" Tsuki teased and the younger gave him the middle finger before disappearing into the bathroom.

Tsuki heard the water running and got changed into his uniform before double checking he had his gym clothes and that both of their bags were packed for the day with their homework inside too. Then, he went downstairs to get some breakfast, brewing himself a coffee when he heard the water stop.

"Kei?" he heard a quiet voice ask.

"Downstairs!" he called back, knowing the setter was probably still feeling anxious.

"Oh, can I have some tea?"

"Yeah! You going to school?"

"Yeah!"

"Would you two stop shouting!" a third voice joined into their conversation, and both teens struggled to hide their laughter at Akiteru's angry and grumbly voice.

"Sorry!"
