"Prison? H-how long?"
"The minimum sentence will be fifteen years."
"Fifteen..."
"Is that satisfactory? Too short or long? Would you speak to the judge about the sentence if given the chance?"
Kageyama remained silent, his mouth opening and closing and his brow in a frown as he tried to figure out what to say. His mind was a mess and his thoughts clashing with each other so much he thought he could pass out. Was it too short? Too long? What his parents did... he just couldn't sort his head out. Tsuki saw this struggle and gently took the phone out of the younger's hand.
"This is Tsukishima. I think this has been too much for one call. Can I ring again tomorrow?"
"Of course, please don't stress over this. We will close the investigation as swiftly as possible. Thankyou and have a good evening."
"Thankyou."
Tsuki hung up the phone and placed it on the coffee table before turning to look at Kageyama. He did not look good. He was pale and his hands were clenched into fists; the middle blocker was scared he was going to break the mug and hurt himself so he took it and placed it on the table too. Tobio's blue eyes were a hazy grey and were shaking.
"Tobio? Hey, are you okay?" the blond asked, feeling concern grow in his chest.
"I- I... I don't... I think I'm... I'm going to-" Kageyama cut himself off as he scrunched his eyes shut at the growing headache and heaviness in his head.
"Do you want to lie down?"
The setter nodded and Tsuki picked him up and carried him upstairs. Kageyama leant his head on the blond's shoulder and by the time he was lay down on the bed he was passed out cold. Tsuki tried to stay calm and figured something like this would happen eventually. He knew this was just Tobio's body's way of helping him yet it was worrying every time.
After making sure Kageyama's pulse was okay and there were no traces of pain on his face, he went back downstairs and put the mugs in the kitchen and grabbed his phone. He then spoke to his mother about everything and said she would make a stew for dinner so Kageyama would have some if he woke up before then.
Tsuki nodded and returned to his room; he shut the door gently before joining Kageyama on the bed. He then opened the group chat and sent a small text to get everyone online.
Time: 5:30PM
Tsukishima: Listen up idiots.
Yes, very attention grabbing. And snarky, just like him. He waited a few minutes so everyone was on the chat before continuing.
Time: 5:34PM
Daichi: What happened with Kageyama today?
Suga: He was completely out of it at practise
Yamaguchi: And shaky too
Hinata: Is he okay Tsukishima?!?!?!?!?!?!
Tsukishima: Be quiet I can hear you shouting from here
Tsukishima: At lunchtime...
They stayed on the chat for around half an hour. Tsuki briefly talked about what happened at lunch, saying Tobio got a phone call then felt unwell, but he mainly talked about the fifteen year sentence his parents were facing. He knew it was up to Tobio to tell them about his father and his threats. After this, everyone left to do school work and Tsuki sighed as he locked his phone and put it on the bedside, looking down to see Kageyama still asleep. He brushed away the fallen locks of hair and spent a while just running a hand through it to try and comfort the younger.
"I'm so sorry Tobio." he whispered.
He was sorry. Sorry that Kageyama had to go through so much at such a young age. Sorry that he was suffering through no fault of his own. Sorry that there wasn't more he could do to help him.
