Once dressed and fed, the pair headed out the house and began their journey to school. Sure they were running about ten minutes late but neither really cared. They took their time walking, but made sure to go fast enough that they wouldn't get too cold. Kageyama stuck close to Tsuki, burrowing into the hoodie he had slipped on under his blazer.
"You sure you're up for it?" the blond asked seeing the faint hints of black under the setter's eyes.
"What are you, my mother?" the younger retorted, smirking at the exasperated expression on Tsuki's face.
"Why do I bother?" Tsuki asked aloud, faking a resigned expression that made Kageyama laugh.
"Hm, I don't know. Why do you?"
"I think I must be a really caring and kind person."
"Keep dreaming." teased the younger.
"Hey!"
"I'm joking. Maybe." he added, making the older look at him with unamused eyes.
"Run."
"No- wait, Kei! I'm too tired for this!"
Kageyama turned and ran for it, the blond racing right after him. Fortunately for the blond, Kageyama was too tired to run as fast as he usually would and so he managed to catch him in a few seconds, wrapping his arms securely around the setter from the back and digging his face into the male's neck.
"Kei, stop it." Kageyama whined, trying to push the blond's arms off of him.
"No."
"We'll be really late."
"No."
"Fine," the younger sighed, "I'll buy you shortcake later."
"Deal."
Tsuki immediately let go and continued his walk to school. Kageyama sighed and muttered to himself about how the middle blocker liked strawberry shortcake more than he liked Kageyama; the third-person speech made Tsuki chuckle. When he caught up to the older, he held out his hand with a pouty expression until Tsuki took hold of it, making him smile happily.
"I do like shortcake, but you taste better."
Kageyama was stunned for a moment at how Tsukishima had just said that with such a blank face. A second later his cheeks blushed madly and he punched the blond's arm several times until he knew there would be a bruise. What a bastard.
"Speaking of bruises-"
"We weren't?" the blond interrupted, looking at Tobio with concern.
"Oh, well I was. Mentally. Anyways, you're gonna have to stop attacking my neck every time you're within a foot of me. Seriously, it's kinda obvious." Tobio absent-mindedly rubbed at his neck; most of his bruises were gone now so he could see where all the hickies were.
"Hm... no."
"Excuse me?"
"No means no."
"Fine, then I will keep my distance. Then you can't do anythi-"
He was cut off by Tsuki kissing him, his free hand pulling him closer by the back of his neck. He gasped with surprise allowing Tsuki to slip his tongue into the kiss; Kageyama grabbed the older's collar to pull him closer. They kissed for a while until the blond pulled away with a smirk on his face, Tobio looking up at him through his bangs with an annoyed face.
"Screw you."
"Maybe later."
"Tsukishima Kei!"
"Okay! Fine, I'll stop..."
"Good."
"... doing it where everyone can see."
"Tsuki!"
The blond only smirked and was deeply amused by the frustrated expression on Kageyama's face, a perfect mix of annoyance and embarrassment. They had arrived at school now though, so the younger couldn't argue about it anymore. Instead he sulked off to the gym whilst Tsuki headed up to the clubroom to get changed.
"Oh, hi Kagey- You don't look good."
Kageyama had pulled open the door to find the first years all talking together with Noya as everyone else was either setting up or still getting changed. Kageyama had an irritated expression on his face, and with looking tired too he didn't look very great.
"I'm fine." he said before sighing as he slumped down against the wall in the corner and ran a hand through his hair to untangle it from the breeze that morning.
"You sure?" Suga asked looking concerned, even though he tried to hide it under a smile.
"Yeah, I'm go- Oi you bastard you look like a undercooked french fry!"
"And you look like a constipated blueberry yet here we are."
"You salty shit. Stupid, dumb, nerdy, idiotic bastard."
"Mhm, whatever you say."
Kageyama put his face in his hands and screamed in the back of his throat. He got some concerned looks from Daichi and Asahi whilst Suga was laughing. Yamaguchi was looking between Tsuki and Kageyama with a confused expression and Noya was watching with a gleam in his eyes. This was perfect morning entertainment.
"Alright then," Daichi began still looking conflicted, "let's get warmed up."
Everyone was now in the gym and warming up, but they all noticed the way Kageyama was glaring at a certain blond who was struggling to not laugh out loud. He didn't know Tobio would get so flustered, it was actually kinda cute.
"Fine, I'm sorry okay?" he said as he sat down in front of the setter.
"Hm." Kageyama didn't believe him as he crossed his arms and raised a brow.
"Seriously, I am. Now please stop looking so angry."
Kageyama eyed him for a moment before leaning forwards and speaking quietly into his ear:
"Only if I get to do whatever I want later."
He grinned at the deep red on Kei's face before standing up and saying he was going to head to class early and ask for help with his homework. Tsuki knew he had no homework that he needed help with he just wanted Tsuki to stay here and suffer. He huffed with annoyance, knowing the younger was enjoying this too much.
"Okay, see you later!" Suga exclaimed with a wave as Kageyama exited the gym, casting one last look to the middle blocker who was still sitting there stunned.
