It was calm and quiet and the pair walked in a comfortable silence; the middle blocker casting quick glances every so often at the setter to make sure he wasn't going to pass out again.
"I- Why-"
"What is it?"
Kageyama tried to think of what to say and what he wanted to ask but he couldn't find a way to say it. Instead, he settled with a quiet thankyou.
"I've already said you don't have to say thankyou."
"But I feel bad. I'm just a burde-"
A hand was put over his mouth, cutting off his sentence. He looked at it then up at its owner, seeing the older giving him a pointed look that told him to stop talking. He sighed and nodded and the middle blocker removed his hand.
"I want you to listen to me. Okay? I don't think you're a burden, or a waste of space, or anything of the sort. You're not stupid or pathetic, and sure as hell not weak. I think you're really damn strong and smart and good. So don't you ever say anything bad about yourself, alright? Because you don't deserve it. And I'll remind you as many times as it takes that you're worth it. Okay?"
The setter was quiet, a small frown in his face.
"Don't do that either. I don't like it."
"You don't like anything." Kageyama retorted.
"I like you. Is that enough?" the blond asked softly, lifting up the setter's face so he could see him better.
The setter nodded and took the older by surprise, leaning up to kiss him. Tsuki returned the kiss, pulling Kageyama closer by his waist. It was short but sweet.
"I'm not the best with words." the younger began when they pulled apart. "But I really appreciate you Tsuki."
"I know." Tsuki replied softly before holding the setter's hand and returning their journey.
As soon as they arrived at Tsukishima's house, the door was flung open and a worried face dragged them inside. The middle blocker sighed as his mother began to ask them a flurry of questions about why they weren't at school. Luckily, she saw the slight worry in her son's eyes and the exhaustion in Kageyama's.
Yes, she did know about them. Of course, they haven't put a label on what they are, figuring it out as they go along. When the setter had spent the weekend at the Tsukishima household, she had walked in on Tsuki sitting in his bed and finishing up his schoolwork whilst a mystery boy lay asleep next to him. She had partly opened the door and saw her son run a hand through the black hair splayed out on his cushion, a content expression on his face.
When Kei had come downstairs Saturday night to get the food they ordered, he noticed his mother giving him a knowing look, a grin on her face. He sighed and took a minute to explain as vaguely as he could about Kageyama and she immediately let him know that whatever happened she would support them both.
