The two boys entered the kitchen to see what could only be described as a small feast. There was so much food they wouldn't be able to actually sit at the table. Tsuki's mother was standing by the sink waiting for their thoughts.
"This is so much food." Tsuki stated.
"I'm starving. But you really didn't-"
"Don't put my hard work to waste." she interrupted Kageyama. "Now eat up and eat all day until you're full."
"... Thanks."
They both grabbed a plate each before heading over to the spread. Kageyama helped himself to some fried eggs, fresh rice, a whole lot of meat, some vegetables, curry noodles and an apple before he headed into the living room. The blond was surprised at the amount of food on the setter's plate but didn't say a word, glad he was eating after having skipped last night.
Tsuki grabbed similar things for himself before joining Tobio in the living room, who was sitting on the floor at the table and downing his food.
"Did I take too much?" he asked when he saw Tsuki's surprised expression.
"Of course not. There's just a lot on your plate, more than recently. Not that I'm complaining."
"Your mother is the best cook ever."
Kageyama continued to down his food but took his time so he wouldn't get sick and throw up. They put on some random morning talk show whilst they ate in a comfortable silence. But, as they were halfway through their meal the middle blocker spoke up.
"Do you want to tell the team what happened yesterday? Everyone was really worried at practise."
Tobio paused from taking a sip of his juice and thought about it. As much as he wanted to forget, it was also the final stage of his parent's sentencing. He wanted them to know what had happened because of how he concerned everyone at practise but also that he may not be around for the next few days until everything was sorted.
"I think I should. They probably want to know what happened yesterday."
"I think so too. Do you want to call them or invite them over?"
"Call."
Tsuki went to get his phone from upstairs and Tobio continued to eat his food. Seriously, he hadn't thought he would be so hungry due to yesterday but Tsuki's mother really was an amazing cook. He had just put a big mouthful of rice into his mouth when the blond returned downstairs and grinned at how his cheeks were all puffed out. Before sitting down he leaned over Tobio and pushed back his bangs before placing a short kiss on his forehead.
"Cute."
"Am n'cute." the setter said through a full mouth.
"No, you are."
"Nuh uh."
"Are."
"Not." Tobio retorted before having some more rice, returning his attention to the TV.
Just before the blond was about to open the groupchat and press call, a message came through for them. It was from Yamaguchi.
Time 12:25PM
Yamaguchi: Hey Tsuki! Are you and Kageyama doing okay? The team wants to call now since it's lunchtime, can we?
Tsukishima: sure
As soon as he pressed send his phone began to ring and so, opening the groupchat, he answered the call and propped his phone up against the vase on the table. He stood up to get them some more drinks whilst he waited for everyone to join.
"Yamayama!" he could hear Hinata scream through the phone.
Kageyama looked away from the TV to see that there was a group call. He saw the blond in the kitchen and so leaned to the side so his face was in the image. He had a mouthful of pork so could only wave with his free hand.
"Did we interrupt?" Suga asked and Tobio shook his head before looking off the camera and raising a brow, tilting his head a little.
The team internally screamed at how cute this was, when in reality the setter was just deciding between tea or coffee. He settled on the letter so made the number two with his hand and a moment later a steaming cup of coffee was in front of him.
"Thankyou."
"No problem." Tsuki said before he saw down next to the younger male, still surprised that he was still eating. "You're seriously this hungry?"
"Well should I stop?"
"No."
"Then be quiet." the setter demanded before having some coffee.
Tsuki just shook his head before looking at the phone expectantly, the team having being awfully quiet.
"What?" he asked dryly.
"You're like an old married couple." Noya teased and the blond rolled his eyes whilst Kageyama didn't even respond, too focused on not burning himself from the coffee.
"So what happened yesterday?" Daichi began, wanting to know the reason behind the setter's tense behaviour.
"My, uh, so me and Kei, we uh... wewenttothelibrarybecauseIwashavingapanicattackandthenwhenwewerethereIgotaphonecallbutitwasunknownbutIansweredanywaysbecauseIfeltlikeitwasimportantandsotherewaslikeheavybreathingandIknewwhoitwasanditwasmydadandhesaidthathehadfoundmeandsoIhadapanicattackbecauseIthoughtIwasgoingtogetkilledbymydadsolastnightwecalledthepolicewhosaidtheydon'tknowhowithappenedandmysistergotasimilarcallfrommymotherbuttheinvestigatorsaidthatmyparentscouldbefacingfifteenyearsinjailandthenIpassedout."
Tobio took a deep breath in and out before looking away and having a long drink of his coffee.
"Bloody hell." Tanaka whispered as they processed Kageyama's quick words.
"Yeah." the setter agreed quietly.
"And how are you feeling about this?" asked Suga with concern, knowing it was a lot to have happened in one day.
"I'm okay I guess. Overwhelmed? But relieved too."
"And hungry." Tsuki added under his breath but Tobio heard him, resulting in him dropping his chopsticks just to whack him on the shoulder; the blond held up his hands in surrender and the team all laughed at their bickering.
