"Wahhhhh! That was amazing!"

The loud shout made Kageyama jump, and he turned to see the team all standing in the doorway, heads peaking through the side of the door. Kageyama just looked surprised and remained quiet as they all complimented his serve.

"I think it's even better than last time!" Suga encouraged.

"Really?" their youngest asked quietly, gaze shifting back to the abandoned volleyball.

"Yeah, you'll be back to tip top shape in no time."

"... Yeah."

The team all headed off to get changed whilst Kageyama picked up the volleyball and returned it to the cart in the storeroom. He sat down and took out a snack from the bag Ukai gave him and Tsuki that morning, and slowly ate whilst deciding to listen to some music.

Taking out his phone, he plugged in his earphones before deciding on a song, going with Strawberries and Cigarettes, a song that had recently become one of his favourites. He shut his eyes and the chill music helped calm his nerves and slightly shaking hands after doing that serve. But it also blocked out the noise of the team entering the gym.

When Daichi clapped his hands to tell everyone to start stretching, the noise echoed around the room and made the setter jump. He opened his eyes wide and saw it was Daichi who had made the noise and let out a breath he was holding, leaning his head back against the wall with a sigh.

"Sorry, was that too loud?" the captain asked.

"It's fine."

Thinking it would be wise, he lowered the volume of his music and relaxed again whilst the team stretched. Afterwards, he got up to put his empty packet in the bin before Ukai came up to him to ask how his day had gone.

"How has today been Kageyama? Was it easy-going?"

"Yeah, I've been okay. Everyone's actually been really nice, not asking too many questions."

"Good, I'm glad you're comfortable."

"Thanks."

"Before you sit back down," Ukai began when the first year went to sit down on the bench, "can you do something for me?"

"Um, okay?"

"I was wondering if you could go around and give some help to the team. I think they would really appreciate your advice."

"I... I've only just come back, I wouldn't want to overstep." Kageyama politely declined.

"You wouldn't be. Think about it?"

"Okay."

The setter nodded and went to sit down on the bench, watching each player individually as they worked on improvements before the practise match later. He saw they were just as energetic as this morning- surprising him since it was a Monday and Mondays suck- and he wondered if it really was because he was there. Surely his presence wasn't that big of a deal, right?

Practise went on, and just as Daichi was about to announce a practise match, he saw Kageyama look over to Ukai who nodded with a thumbs up. The first year nodded and walked up to Daichi.

"Um, Ukai suggested something. Uh, not- you don't have to agree but, uh..."

"What is it? I'm sure it's nothing bad."

"No, or at least, he doesn't think so. But I- I didn't want to overstep so-"

"Hey, it's okay." Daichi interrupted the setter who was looking down.

"Um, he said it would be a good idea if I sort of, well, walked around and gave advice. But I didn't want to be like overbearing or anything, since I just came back and, well, yeah..."

Daichi was quiet for a moment before laughing and ruffling Kageyama's hair, telling him that was a great idea. This way the first year could contribute without doing too much physical work; it was a win-win for everyone.

"Off you go. I'd try Suga first."

"Right, thanks."

Kageyama walked over to Suga who was having a break and told him what he told Daichi. The grey-haired male smiled before standing up and putting his water bottle down.

"So, do you have any advice for me?" he asked kindly.

"Yeah, but you don't have to listen or anything-"

"Kageyama," Suga interrupted, "have a little confidence in yourself, okay?"

"O-okay."

The pair headed onto the court and Suga picked up a volleyball. Kageyama said he wanted to give some advice on his serving, about how to make it more accurate every time, and the third year was more than happy to listen. Suga found that if Kageyama was encouraged to speak, he was actually quite good at it, he just needed more confidence. The first year helped him with positioning and aiming before asking the third year to practise.

And it worked. Sometimes his serves were lacking power but now- with a few angular adjustments, they were much better and harder to predict. The third year looked at Kageyama, who was watching the ball hit the floor with a small, pleased smile. It was a great sight to see.

"Thankyou. I think that was excellent advice. Now I'll definitely score us points with my serves." Suga complimented loudly- but not too loudly- and it caught the attention of other players.

"Um, could I have some help with my serves too then?" Asahi asked.

"Oh, sure."

With a little shove and words of encouragement, Kageyama headed over to Asahi who wanted help with the strength of his serves.

"I never know how strong to make them. And my spikes too."

"Okay, how about this..."
