71 - Missing you

"Hey Tsuki!" Yamaguchi shouted as he ran up to his best friend, happy to see him heading to school.

"Morning Tadashi."

The boy with freckles smiled happily and began talking about how he had improved his float serve, and Tsuki agreed to see it when they made it to the gym. They caught up on school and family as they got changed into their gym clothes, as they had not seen each other much these past few days.

When they had put everything in their lockers, the pair headed into the gym to stretch. They were relatively on time so most people were already there and setting up the net. Daichi came over and chatted with them as they stretched asking about Kageyama and complimenting Yamaguchi's improvements.

"He had to take the sleeping pills today." Kei stated. "He didn't sleep a lot last night."

"Wow, he must have been really tired to take them."

"He tried his best not to act like it, but yeah."

"Suga said to ask you if he could come over later and give Kageyama his work. Is after practise okay?"

"It should be."

"Great! Thanks Tsukishima." Daichi gave him a friendly pat on the shoulder before heading over to speak with Suga.

"Can I come too?" asked Yams.

"Yeah. I can tell he gets annoyed with himself, thinking I don't spend time with other people as much recently."

"Aw!" Yamaguchi teased and Tsuki told him to shut up and show him his serve; the relief server got excited and pulled his salty friend up and onto the court, signalling the start of their morning practise...

During practise, the blond middle blocker only checked his phone once because- even though phones weren't usually allowed in the gym- an exception was made for him, and he had asked his mother to give him regular updates on Tobio. He wanted to make sure there were no negative effects of using the sleeping pills.

Apart from that practise went smooth. They worked on receives and serves before having three on three matches; when the morning bell was about to go everyone called it quits for the morning and went to get changed into their uniforms, ready for a long day of classes ahead.

School was relatively easy, Tsuki's classes were starting new topics so they were all introductory lessons. He had lunch with Yamaguchi and Hinata, who were both talking about improving their serves. The middle blocker said serves weren't a real problem since he can just get swapped out when it's his turn. 

"Fair enough, but I have to be as good as Kageyama!" Hinata said with determination causing the best friends to stifle laughs.

"Sorry Hinata, but I don't think you can serve as well as Kageyama." Yamaguchi stated. "You'd have to work really really hard."

"And then add an inch or two." Tsuki teased, causing Hinata to huff with annoyance and him and Yams to start laughing again...

"Nice work today everyone!" Takeda complimented when the boys all began to collect in the volleyballs and take down the net.

"Thankyou!" they chorused before grabbing their things and heading out to the clubroom to change.

"Hey Tsukishima, it's still cool for me to come over right?" Suga asked as he put on his shoes.

"Sure. Did you get everything?" Tsuki asked as he shut his locker.

"Yep!"

Tsukishima, Suga and Yamaguchi made their way out of the school gates, saying semi-enthusiastic goodbyes to their teammates before turning down the street to head to the middle blocker's house. 

"How have you been? It's been a stressful few weeks."

"I'm the same as always. Now I just have someone to take care off. Don't repeat that to anybody."

"Aw Tsuki!" Yamaguchi teased.

"How has he been?" Suga asked. "You've looked at your phone a few times today."

"I think he's been fine. Pretty sure he's been asleep all day."

"All day?" questioned Suga with disbelief. 

"He's still adjusting to having a semi-regular sleep schedule. Besides, if it was really up to the doctor I'm pretty sure he'd be in the hospital."

"Oh... and his sister?"

"She texted saying she'd visit later. She was planning on seeing Kageyama at lunch but I explained everything."

The third year nodded and the trio walked the rest of the way in a peaceful silence, only commenting here and there on random things that popped into their heads. At last they reached the Tsukishima household and the blond opened the door. Heading inside, he saw a note from his mother on the side saying she had just gone out to work her night shift and would be back in the morning.

After having snacks and drinks, they headed upstairs and into Tsuki's room. Suga had never been inside it before so he allowed himself a small snoop around whilst Yams just plopped down at the seat at the desk. Tsuki headed over to the bed and the duo followed, all struggling to hide theirs 'aw's at the cute sight.
