No. He couldn't think such things. He just had to leave. He grabbed his phone and earphones before slipping out of the door, deciding to head out the back door.
Kageyama was taking his time to get down the stairs slowly. But just when he made it down the stairs with not one creak to be heard, and slipped along the corridor avoiding the main spots visible from the living room, he sensed something coming from behind him.
On instinct he ducked, and watched as a glass bottle was smashed just a meter away above his head, crashing into the backdoor and sending glass everywhere; one piece cut his hand.
"Oh, so you're still here. Listen to everything did you? You little shit!"
His father picked him up by his hood before slamming him against the back door, the smell of alcohol on his breath.
"Where do you think you're going?"
Kageyama looked into his father's steely grey eyes and gulped, the figure of his mother appearing just behind...
The loud sound of a ringtone stirred Tsuki from his sleep. He groaned and turned over onto his front, reaching over and moving his hand over his bedside with half-lidded eyes in search for his phone. At last he found it and fell back onto the bed, putting on his glasses to see the late night caller.
It was Sobo. And she was ringing at 1AM.
He frowned and quickly answered the call, wincing at the loud voice.
"Kei, dear, are you there?!" Sobo's voice shouted through the phone, suggesting she was holding it too close to her face.
"Yeah, I'm here, What's going on at this time of night?" he asked, with a raspy voice from sleep.
"It's Tobio."
At Kageyama's name, he shot up in bed, eyes wide awake and worried.
"What? What happened Sobo? Where is he?"
"He's with me dear. He came here about an hour ago. Oh, Kei, he's- he's-"
"Please calm down Sobo. I'm heading over right now. Just make sure he's okay."
Sobo said she would do so just before Tsuki hung up. He switched on his lamp and quickly got ready. In record time he was downstairs and slipping on his sneakers. He saw his mother asleep on the couch- after a long night TV binge session- and quickly wrote a note briefly explaining what had happened.
The air was cold as he stepped inside, but it didn't matter because he ran. He ran as fast as he could; he'd never ran so fast. The houses became the town as he ran under the streetlights, trying but failing to block out the horrid, worst-case scenarios in his head.
