Once they had left the school building and made their way over to a clear patch of grass near the sports fields, Tsuki let go of the setter and they both sprawled out on the ground.

"I'm tired." Kageyama spoke softly, as if speaking too loud would wake everyone else up.

"What time did you actually go to sleep? I didn't see you come back in."

"I don't know, I was with Akaashi in the bathroom for a while. He helped me with my bandages." Tobio cleared up as he saw the confusion on Tsuki's face.

"Hm. Does he know?"

"No, but he asked to go out this afternoon together. I think he could see I was a little stressed, but he won't force me into telling him anything."

"Well it's Akaashi, he's a decent person."

Kageyama was quiet for a moment before looking over to the taller blond with wide eyes.

"Did you just compliment somebody?!" he exclaimed with disbelief.

"No."

"Yes you did."

"No."

"Yes you did."

"Nope. Didn't do that. Didn't happen." the middle blocker insisted.

"It did! Admit it."

"If I do, will you kiss me?" Tsuki asked with a raised brow.

"... Fine."

The blond smirked before admitting that he did compliment Akaashi, and that he didn't dislike the second year. Then as his reward he leaned over and cupped Tobio's cheek before kissing him. The setter returned the gesture and for a moment it was just calm, slow, and perfect.

When they pulled apart they stayed silent for a minute or two, just enjoying being in each other's presence; when Tobio leant his forehead against Kei's with closed eyes and a content smile, the blond couldn't help but smile too.

"You're beautiful." Kei whispered, lost in the image of his lover's face partly splayed with the rays of the rising morning sun; when the male's eyes opened from the unexpected words, his deep blue eyes shone too.

"Don't say things like that." the setter whispered back, slightly embarrassed.

"No takebacks. I'll keep telling you that until you believe it."

"I hate you."

"Love you too."

Tobio just shook his head and lightly shoved Tsuki's shoulder, ending up with them both lying on the fresh green grass with joined hands, watching the sun continue to rise into the clear blue sky. Looking down, the setter could see their wristbands glowing softly in the morning light. The sight made him feel a little lighter.

"What will you do today then, before going out with Akaashi?" Kei asked, breaking the comfortable silence.

"Hmm... I'm not sure. Probably just watch you all since I don't have anymore schoolwork to catch up on. Maybe do some practise later?" replied Tobio, a small frown appearing on his brow as he thought of hanging around all day. Luckily practise was finishing earlier.

Kei nodded in reply and they were quiet once more, enjoying the faint sounds of birds and cars closer to the city as they enjoyed each other's company. At one point, the setter shuffled around so his head was resting on Tsuki's torso, and he let out a content sigh when the blond slowly ran a hand through his hair. Tsuki looked down to see how relaxed Tobio was, and the sight brought a small smile to his lips.

All to soon the sound of waking teens emerged from the school and the duo made their way back inside. They walked slowly throughout the halls, and opened their dorm room door to see 9 sleeping figures, the only one awake being Daichi who waved hello.

"I was just about to get everyone up, can you help?" the captain asked in a rough morning voice.

The pair- albeit a little reluctantly- nodded and went over to the opposite side of the room to Daichi. They noticed how Hinata's and Yamaguchi's futons were pushed up right next to each other and shared a mischievous look before crouching down on either side and shouting.

"Get up!"

The pair sat upright with wide eyes and shaky breaths, looking a little terrified of the loud noise. But upon seeing Kageyama and Tsukishima standing over them, they groaned and fell back onto their futons.

"Get up or I'll throw water over you boke." the setter threatened before heading off to wake up Suga, who he was much nicer in waking up: a small shake to the shoulder and a wave made the third year wake up with a quiet greeting of his own.

In a few minutes everyone was up and about, rushing past each other as they got changed into their jerseys and shorts. They were all excited for another day of volleyball practise, and made their way down to the cantine quick enough. A breakfast of fresh fruit and toast greeted them, and the cantine was soon filled with the sound of devouring teenage boys.

Kageyama ate an apple and had some water, not feeling the most hungry. He brushed off Kei's glance at the small portion of food, but he wasn't really a breakfast person everyday. But he did accept the hot cup of coffee from the middle blocker, and the strong caffeine brushed off the last few traces of sleepiness as they headed down to the gym to warm up.
