18 - Incident?

It had been an hour and Tsukishima was waiting on a small bench at the turning, where he and Kageyama split ways to go home. He was scrolling absentmindedly through his socials as the time passed, looking up and around when the time hit quarter past.

At last, the setter's figure appeared around the corner, a back pack over his shoulder and hood up.

"Sorry I'm late."

"Don't worry about it."

"Oka-"

"What's this?"

Tsuki noticed a red mark against Kageyama's jaw. He stepped closer and pulled off the setter's hood, gently placing one hand under his chin and tilting his head to get a better look. Kageyama's cheeks flushed red and he tried to brush it off but when Tsuki brushed his thumb against the mark he inhaled sharply.

"Who did this?" Tsuki asked, looking intensely at the mark. "It's not going to leave a bruise. Someone knew what they were doing."

"I- It's nothing."

"Tobio. Please tell me who did this to you."

Kageyama looked up. Tsuki had called him Tobio and his tone of voice was like nothing he had heard before. It was quiet and.. and scared.

"I-" the younger tried to get out but the words for stuck in his throat. "It was my... my dad."

As he said it out loud, it seemed as if he had only just realised what had happened. He took in a shaky breath and tried to hold in the tears. Tsuki saw his shaking and brought him in for a hug, gently running a hand up and down Kageyama's back as the setter let out quiet sobs.

"I'm so tired Tsuki." Kageyama muttered, resting his head on the middle blocker's shoulder.

"I know Tobio." the older muttered as he drew the younger closer. "Come on, let's get you inside."
