It was quiet for a while. Tsuki running a hand through Kageyama's hair whilst the younger was curled up in his lap, eyes empty as he stared into nothing. The blond joined their hands together, careful to avoid the one that had been cut. The new contact made Kageyama jump, and he quickly apologised in case he upset the middle blocker. Tsuki said it was alright and they returned to their silence.

"Can you..." Tsuki began, pausing as he tried to figure out the best way to say it, "can you tell me what he did to you?"

"..."

"You don't have to show me if you don't want to. I just need to know where to be careful."

The younger was quiet for a moment, deciding where to start. He sighed a few times- just wanting to fall asleep and pretend this was all a dream- but the fear and concern in the blond's eyes made him talk.

"Well, he grabbed my neck, so, you know, there's a few bruises there. My da- he threw me down and I hit my head on the... I hit my head on the door handle. Then he started p-punching and kicking everywhere. I... I can't remember..."

"We're gonna have to get you to a doctor. I think you may have a concussion."

"Concussion?"

"Yeah, if you hit your head pretty hard. Do you have a headache or anything? Am I being too loud?" the blond asked with a worried tone.

Kageyama shook his head but then winced at the pain it caused; he resumed his position of lying his head on the middle blocker's chest, where he could hear his faint heartbeat.

"It's fast." he mumbled to himself.

"Hm?"

Tsuki looked down and saw that the younger had his eyes shut, breaths slow and quiet as he curled up against him for warmth. He placed a kiss against his forehead just before Sobo walked in.

"Did he explain everything? I thought I'd give you pair some time alone."

"Yeah, I know what happened. But I think he hit his head so he needs to see a doctor. And there are other injuries too."

"Oh, Kei, when he turned up he looked so pale and afraid and his head was bleeding. Here." Sobo pointed to her forehead. "He practically passed out on the couch and so I cleared up the blood but I didn't want to touch the bandages on his arms."

"... Bandages?" Tsuki asked, looking between the lady and the sleeping teen in his arms.

"The bandages. Here."

Sobo came over and gently tugged on the setter's jumper, pulling the sleeves up enough to reveal bandages on Kageyama's forearms. Tsuki took in a sharp gasp- knowing they only meant one thing.

"You didn't know?" asked Sobo quietly; when Kei shook his head she pulled the sleeves back down and brought in the coffee she had made for him.

"I- I rang the police." she began when she sat down in the living room with them.

"Good. I was going to do the same thing."

"They told me they were heading over to Tobio's house now to arrest the parents. Apparently this is not the first time they have been reported for child abuse... his sister reported them three years ago."

Tsuki didn't say anything but drank his beverage, nodding for Sobo to continue.

"I told them of the injuries Tobio has and they said they'd send a doctor first thing tomorrow morning. I told them he was asleep so to not come tonight. I'm going to close the shop for the next few days until everything is sorted."

"You shouldn't Sobo. He would feel bad about it."

"And I don't care. I should have done something sooner when I felt something was off."

Tsuki once again nodded, feeling that he should have done something sooner- regardless of what his love wanted- and then maybe he would have been safe from his parents. All the pain Tobio had gone through made him feel so useless and sad that he let a few tears slip.

"I should have done something." he whispered, and Sobo immediately rushed over and comforted him, saying nobody knew that tonight was going to happen.

"Don't blame yourself dear, he wouldn't want that. Please don't put any of this on yourself. It's all their fault and they're going to pay for their actions. Okay?"

"Okay." the blond agreed before taking a deep breath in and out, looking down to make sure Kageyama was still asleep.

"You can stay the night. Or what's left of it. Try and get some rest."

Sobo headed into her bedroom, telling the male that he could help himself to whatever he wanted in the kitchen, and to let her know if Tobio woke up. The blond thanked her and when the door closed allowed himself a few moments to recover before he got comfortable on the couch, not loosening his grip on the setter.

Kageyama frowned a little and took in a sharp breath, fists clenching as he gripped onto Tsuki's hoodie. The middle blocker was worried that he had hurt one of the younger's injuries- as he didn't know what they all were yet- but Kageyama soon settled down.

"I'm sorry." he muttered as he drifted off to sleep, Kageyama unconsciously pressing himself closer to the older.
