Kageyama didn't wake up in time for dinner, even with Tsuki's constant attempts he didn't stir. The older sighed and went downstairs to eat with his family, asking his mother to save some for later if Tobio woke up.
"Did they say how his dad managed to call him?" she asked as they ate the very delicious meal.
"No, but they're going to find out. I think they also told him about his parents' sentences. Fifteen years at least."
"Fifteen, what did Tobio think about that?" Akiteru asked.
"I'm not sure, he started panicking and wasn't looking good."
"The poor dear, he just really needs all of this to be over. Have you spoken to his sister?"
"No, I'll do it later. I wonder if she was contacted too..."
Once dinner had finished Kei offered to wash up the dishes whilst his mother got ready for work and Akiteru to go out with his friends. Luckily there weren't too many so he was done in about ten minutes.
When he returned upstairs he found Kageyama was still asleep but frowning slightly, his hands gripping onto the bedsheets. He walked over and sat on the edge of the bed as he hushed the younger male, not leaving until he was looking more peaceful. Once Tobio looked a little better he went to go and have a shower then texted Miwa for a while.
He discovered she was contacted by their mother, who did nothing but scream obscenities at her until she hung up. She had also rang the police that evening and they were investigating the issue. The police officers who arrested them were sure they took away their mobile devices.
Miwa asked about Tobio and he explained he had passed right out after they rang the police; she said she would come over tomorrow and make sure Kageyama didn't go into school if he wasn't feeling good. Tsuki agreed and turned his phone off before starting any homework. Kageyama stirred a few times but it wasn't too bad and the rest of the evening passed by relatively peacefully, seeing as it was just the two of them in the house.
The clock had passed 11pm by the time the blond got himself into bed, once more making sure the setter was doing okay before hugging him close and falling to sleep...
A constant rustling woke him up from his sleep. He squinted as his eyes adjusted to the dark, then looked to his side to find Kageyama having a nightmare. His body was curled up and his back was facing Tsuki. The middle blocker turned the lamp on low before sitting up and assessing the situation.
It seemed like a bad one. Tobio's body was shaking and his expression was one of pain and fear. He was sweating slightly and he cried out quietly every so often. His breathing was uneven and choked. Okay, what to do to wake him up but not freak him out...
Taking a deep breath in and out Tsuki shuffled closer before brushing away the fallen locks from Tobio's hair. Small steps. Then he gently grabbed one of the setter's clenched hands and ran his thumb over the knuckles as he unclosed it from the sheets; at this Kageyama flinched a little so the blond was quick to hush him and say everything was okay, hoping the younger could hear him in his nightmare.
Ever so slowly, he placed his hand on Kageyama's shoulder, careful to avoid anywhere on his neck, and lightly shook it, telling the younger to wake up. But this didn't work and Kageyama tried to pull away from him.
"Come on Tobio, wake up. You're just dreaming, please wake up."
He could see Kageyama's breathing was getting worse, fainter and more rapid. His expression looked like he was in immense pain and he curled in on himself even more.
"Don't hurt... please..."
At the younger's weak begs Tsuki's concern increased tenfold. He really had to wake Kageyama up and tell him what he was seeing was just a dream. He nodded, held his breath, and pulled Tobio's body towards him, running and hand through his hair as he rubbed his back.
"It's just a bad dream. Come on love, wake up."
Kageyama's hand grabbed onto Tsuki's t-shirt with white knuckles and the blond took this as a signal that he knew Tsuki was with him. He continued to call out to him quietly, trying to ease away the tensions in his body; after a while, ever so slightly, the younger's breaths began to calm down.
Then, just as the older was about to call out his name again, the setter jerked awake with wide and scared eyes. The blond removed his arms and Tobio sat up, looking around the room with shaking eyes and shaking body. He put a hand to his neck and let out a small sigh when he found nothing there, this relief seeming to calm him down even more.
"Tobio? Are you okay? Can you tell me where you are?" asked Tsuki when he gently took hold of one of the setter's hands.
"I- I'm... in your room. Kei's room." Kageyama added to himself when he looked down at their joined hands. "Tsuki..."
