The door was opened and in walked the blond teen. He saw his mother coming down stairs after having gone and checked on Kageyama; she was happy to see him back safe.

"You look like you need a hand." she said with a smile before taking the setter's schoolbag off his shoulder and they walked upstairs.

"I didn't know if he'd be staying in your room or want his own so the spare room is clean if he wants some space. But we can put his things here for now." she explained as they put Kageyama's things in the spare room.

"How about you go and check up on him and I'll make you some hot drinks. Are you hungry?"

"I am. But I don't think Kageyama will be."

"Okay, I'll be downstairs if you need me."

His mother reached up to pat his head with a proud smile before she headed downstairs quietly, not wanting any creaks to wake up the sleeping boy in her son's room. Tsuki headed to his bedroom door and pushed it open, hoping to see the younger either calmly asleep or calmly awake. He got neither.

As soon as he took one step into the room Kageyama woke up. He shot up into a sitting position on the bed, a hand reaching up to his neck as if he was suffocating. He chest was rising and falling rapidly and his eyes were wide and panicked. Tsuki sped over and sat down on the bed, assuring Kageyama that he was safe and it was just a dream. Well, more like a memory.

"I- I can't-"

The setter felt as if his throat had closed up and he felt pain in his lungs. The blond grabbed one of his hands and placed it against his chest so he could feel the in and out breaths and copy them. It took a while for the younger to focus- battling with the black spots at the edges of his vision- but he managed to match a steady rhythm of breathing.

Around ten minutes later, Kageyama was breathing normally, and his head dropped with exhaustion.

"So-"

"Nope, not listening. No apologies."

Kageyama looked up through his eyelashes and could see the relief and determination on the blond's face.

"Okay."

Once the middle blocker was sure the younger was okay, he asked if he wanted to talk about what he had seen. But Tobio refused, not wanting to think back to it. It had happened once and that was enough. Tsuki asked if he wanted to have a shower or a bath and get changed, as well as put on new bandages and take his tablets. His mother informed him the doctor's secretary had stopped round with a bag of medication for the teen.

"A bath sounds nice." the setter agreed, and Tsuki got up to run the water before getting fresh clothes from Kageyama's things as well as putting his toothbrush in the bathroom.

Once the bath had run, Kageyama picked up the towel the older had left on the side and shut the door. He undressed and took his time unwrapping the bandages, looking away at the sickly purple and green bruises on his ribs. Submerging himself in the hot water, his body untensed and welcomed the heat like a warm blanket. The steam was a drug and eased his aching head, and he wished to never leave.

But the water got cold so he climbed out, careful not to move too fast or put too much weight on his ankle. He put on a t-shirt, and shorts over his pants, before heading into the bedroom. He saw the bag of meds on the bedside and sat on the bed with a sigh. Tsuki saw this and offered to help with the bandages and ointment for his neck and ankle, taking his time and being extremely delicate to not cause the younger any pain.

He couldn't look at the bruises any longer than Kageyama.

After, he went out the room and grabbed the hairdryer, knowing the younger liked it when he dried his hair. Just like before, he plugged it in and knelt behind the setter, running his fingers through the black locks to get rid of any knots and smiling at the peaceful expression on Kageyama's face.

When he was done he went to put the hairdryer in the bathroom to cool down, and when he returned stopped at what he saw. He leaned against the doorway- seemingly unnoticed by the younger- and watched in pleasant surprise as Kageyama opened his wardrobe and got out one of his big hoodies, slipping it on before collapsing onto the bed.

"Comfy?" he asked as he walked over to the younger, putting his clothes he had changed out of whilst the setter was in the bath in the laundry basket.

Kageyama looked up from where he was curled up on the bed and saw the glint of humour in the older's eyes.

"Comfy..." he mumbled.

Tsuki got onto the other side of the bed, saying his mother wanted to know if he wanted anything to eat or drink. The setter said he didn't want anything, but pushed himself up to take his meds with a glass of water.

After, he got under the covers and shuffled closer to the middle blocker until he fit perfectly in his side. Tsuki gently wrapped an arm around Kageyama's waist and brushed the hair away from the younger's forehead before placing a light kiss against the pale skin.

He saw Kageyama seemed unwilling to go to sleep- even when his eyes were one second away from shutting- so he assured him that he wasn't going anywhere and would be right here when he woke up.

"Promise?" asked the setter, holding out a pinkie that appeared from the oversized sleeve.

"Promise." he spoke quietly, even though Kageyama's eyes had already slipped shut.
