"Hi." he said quietly as Suga and Daichi came up to him.

"It's good to see you." Suga said warmly. "You look better."

"I do?"

"I agree. And don't worry about having skipped school." Daichi added, making Kageyama look down and rub the back of his neck. "Takeda sorted it all out."

"Thanks..."

"Go and sit down, all we're doing is working on serves this morning."

"Okay."

He went and sat on the empty bench, Kiyoko offering a warm greeting. He brought his knees to his chest and placed his head on them, watching the players work hard. Ukai turned up for half an hour too as the store was opening late due to deliveries. He was happy to see Kageyama and also noted the first year looked a little better.

"Tsukishima showed me your notes from the other day." the coach began, causing Kageyama to look surprised and slightly nervous.

"You can keep doing it if you want. There was some really good advice and the team were happy to hear your praises. But don't be afraid to speak up too kid, the past is in the past. I'll keep this here."

Ukai placed the notebook on the bench, entrusting Kiyoko to keep tabs on it and bring it to practise. She also said his pointers were very useful and the team took them on board. This brought a small smile to his face and he resumed watching the practise.

"Hey!" Noya shouted, waving to the setter. "Kageyama!"

The setter looked over to the Libero who was wearing his famous mischievous grin on his face.

"Yeah?" he called back but much quieter.

"Why is your hoodie so big?!"

Kageyama looked down at the hoodie and realised- it wasn't his. Shit. It was the one Tsuki gave him when he was cold at his place. He must have picked it up without thinking. Luckily he managed to mask his surprise and explained:

"I just ordered the wrong size. But I like it bigger anyways." he said, wearing what he hoped was a neutral expression.

"M'kay! If you say so!"

Noya returned to receiving everyone's serves, but the grin didn't leave his face. He spoke with Tanaka for a while, both of them snickering and grinning as if they were in on something nobody else was. Kageyama rested his forehead on his knees, allowing himself a moment to sigh heavily and recover, before he looked back up and was back to normal: tired.

Daichi told everyone to pack away and get changed just before 8AM so they would make it to class on time. Kageyama spoke with Hinata for a while as the ginger asked how he was, to which he replied he was fine.

"But you still look tired. Did you sleep last night?" Hinata persisted.

"Barely 4 hours. But I kept waking up."

Tsuki walked past at this moment, helping Yamaguchi put the volleyballs away, and they made brief eye-contact. The older had a flash of concern at his statement but gave a quick, warm smile. Kageyama didn't have time to speak to him as Hinata was pulling him to the class they shared together that morning.

He looked back just before they turned the corner and saw Tsuki was about head off to class too. He quickly made a phone gesture before he was pulled down the corridor.

One thing Kageyama hadn't missed was being surrounded by so many people. When he entered the classroom several of the students looked his way, wondering why he had been absent last week. However, all of his teachers had been informed by Takeda that he had been unwell so told him to take it easy in class. He took his seat in the back of the class and snuck out his phone, holding it under the desk. Even then it was hidden by his sweater paws.
