A week.

A long as week that he was followed by Mordred. Even after many times that they moved their nest, the other plopped out of nowhere. It was stressing him out and the animals tried to make him better. They were even more affectionate but there was nothing that they could do.

Mordred wore some armor and he remembered numbly that held the crest from Camelot. The other was here to kill him. It was ironic as the druid boy that they had rescued was now going to be his death.

He couldn't help but let out a hysteric laugh but soon sobs, whimpers and he cried. It was not fair, he had now almost a year and 7 months that he had been happy and feeling content but now he would be hunted down for sure.

"Merlin, okay look I didn't want to cause you any fear. I am here in peace." The soothing voice of Mordred was startling him and his magic acted on instinct, leading for the other ending up with cat ears and tail.

His eyes widen, curling into himself as whimpers went out. Now he messed up for sure. Mordred will kill him for that.

"Can you let me close." The voice held calm and the magic that washed over the animals and him soothed some of his fear.

A hand was on his cheek and making him shudder not expecting the soft touch. Yet he appreciated it as it had been a very long time that he had this kind of touch of someone else then a animal.

"Your idiotic friends are even now searching for you and Arthur is the worse out of all of them. He's sulking constantly and he task me to search you. Kind of guessed that you got lost and it is funny how right he was." The mirth was heard and making him puzzled as letting out another questioned noise and waiting for the other to give him more of these nice touches.

"You mind me giving you a hug?" Mordred asked softly and he tilted his head as making a gesture that showed that he would like that.

The other plopped himself down and he ended with this into the other's arms. The animals were curious about Mordred for sure. The reason must have been because of the other having also magic. Not the same then him obviously as no one was like Merlin, with him being magic. Druids were the closest with nature but never would they be as close as he was to nature. That was what he knew.

"Where was I? Oh yeah, everyone being worried sickly about you and no one managed to find you, so when he found out my name he task me to find you. Was not easy." The other grinned down at him and he snuggled into the arms.

By now the animals started to get that close that the other could touch them, yet had not done and he gave an appreciated noise. It was just that he didn't want them to be startled.

"Guess you like being here, but how about you get closer to Camelot that its easier for your moronic friends to meet you?"

That suggestion made him shake his head, bury his instantly on the side and letting out a whimper. Mordred stopped this suggestion but it ended up with the other staying with him.

Mordred continued bothering him to make his nest closer to Camelot. Even now, after two months, he had not often talked, other then saying the other's name and he couldn't be bothered. Noises are way easier and Mordred was giving him a look.

It was not that he couldn't talk and he had not forgot how to, yet he just felt too anxious. The last time he talked was that day and trying to explain to Uther. Something about the other telling him to shut up and that he was evil, struck him.

It was why he had talked less and less. Why talk when he was not believed anyway? That had reminded him of his childhood. Will and his mother were the only one that he could trust. It was for sure why he stopped talking entirely. Animals never judged him and were loyal to him.

"Look, I know why you don't talk and I won't force you but it's not healthy." Mordred once said and never had said it ever again after his eyes started to water.
