Merthur/Merlin one shot

Modern age drama 2 Arthur and Gwaine remember

Arthur was not sure how to react as at one morning his memories suddenly appear. But not just him, but it seemed that his best friend as well. Both had eye contact with each other and both were trying to figure out now what these memories were. There was as well the fact that he felt like Merlin needed him. 

"So what now? How can we find Merlin?"

Right now; he and Gwain were sitting at the table. The two were living in the same apartment as it cost less and he enjoyed having him near him. Even when the latter male can get a bit annoying.

"I feel like Merlin needs me and I don't know. Oh, and I heard there is a popular cafe near Lake Avalon. They say you have the view from this Lake. My instinct are telling me to go there."

He shrugged as he rubbed his thumbs on the mug. Gwaine hummed as he took a sip. There was a comfortable silence between them. Both didn't need to talk to each other. Both could simply communicate with looks alone. They knew each other since childhood. And were by now more than just best friends, brothers. 

"Then let's go there. Your instincts lead you towards that place, and there is for sure a reason for it."

He nodded and let out a sigh. Why had he just now remembered? Was the world in need for him? No, there was no disaster or war happening right now. Everything is peaceful, or as peaceful it can get. No, he had a feeling Merlin is in some kind of danger. And he guessed that Gwaine was needed for this. That was probably why the other male remembers as well.

"Then let's go now. We both don't have anything better to do."

Gwaine went to a college, as he wants to be a therapist, and he was going to the same college to be a doctor. Both were 21 years old right now and soon would have finished college. It felt strange to him, but he had knowledge now.

"Alrighty."

The two started to stand up and getting their coats and walking outside. Gwaine locked the door after him and the two started to get to their car. This world felt different, but lucky because of him getting born into this world. He was used to all this. He opened the driver seat and Gwaine sat on the seat right next to him. The key was put in the keyhole and turned around. With this, they driven to the cafe.

Arthur and Gwaine exit the car and he awed at the structure of the house. It was stunning here and the house just gave just a more stunning feeling. This could end up his favorite place. He started to walk toward the house and aweing just more. The entrance had a homey feel to it. 

"This-wow, just stunning."

This all made him just speechless so that he could just give a nod as an answer to Gwaine. They entered the cafe and he was surprised to see Merlin but more surprised to see was Mordred. Arthur decided not to show his surprise and sitting down on a free table. His eyes met with Gwaine and he as well had the same things on his mind. There was something off about Merlin.

'Too animated and he looks happy but that looks off as well. And what is with that necklace. Why does he fiddling now at the cord?'

Arthur decided to wait until Merlin would come to them. Which was soon, there was a pause from him. Arthur saw the others male eyes shone for just a moment in pink. It turned back as soon as it was shown.

"Hello, sirs. What can I bring you two?"

He hummed as he looked at the card and pointed on something, the same went with Gwaine. Both had eye contact for a moment again.
