A/N a warning for human traffickers, mentioned. But don't you worry everything will end up in a sweet ending and some fluff as well.

Merlin was lost. Like really lost in the woods. To make it worse he couldn't use his magic as he ended overused as he had to fend up himself of bandits.

How he got lost? Well, Gaius send him to find some medicine herbs and he was of course going to help. And now he was stuck in the woods entirely lost. Not even knowing where he was. Food wasn't an issue, or maybe it would be. The only thing he had was a dagger and that wasn't really something that would protect him from bandits. God, was he screwed, and he shivered now.

'Great, and I don't even am that good with fighting without magic, I have to remind Arthur to teach me how to fight...'

He let out a sigh as he started to somehow managed to make a fire. His body was shivering as it was getting a bit more cold. His stomach growls and he felt more sleepy by minute. His eyes soon closed and he dozed off feeling too exhausted to realizing that someone was lurking in the shadows and watching him...

.

.

.
His eyes slowly opened and felt weak like he couldn't move that well. It was as his body was sluggish. A few times he blinked to get this out of his systems but it wasn't working. What else he noticed was that he couldn't think straight.

"....awake...won't...a...we...money..."

He could just understand half of it and he had a bad feeling. To make this worse was that he realized that he was feeling a bit colder. Like he could just feel a grown or maybe something keen like a dress. Even in his befuddled mind, he knew that whatever was happening wasn't a good thing. A whiff caught his nose and soon he felt himself being drift back to a dreamless sleep.

.

.

.

Once again he woke up, and it took him a moment to realize that he was on a horse and leaning on someone. His eyes blinked a few times as he tried to get his fogginess out of his systems, but right now it was too strong.

"....Merlin...there?"

This voice seemed familiar but he just couldn't get where. He heard some other voices but his mind was way too unfocused to really get or hear what they were saying.

"He..seems...sire..."

The next time he really was there, was when he was on the ground on something soft. And another thing he noticed was someone's hand going through his hair. HIs eyes trailed up now to see that it was Arthur. The male was looking like he was thinking. But soon Arthur's blue eyes met with his puzzled looking one.

"Merlin?"

He blinked and hummed still not really there yet. His mind just couldn't remember what had happened. Until he remembered being half there and his body not managing to move, nor could he think about anything. It made his confusion grow as well a panic ended up growing in his gut.

"W-what?"

Merlin looked at Arthur for answers and he looked concerned now.

"You- Alright, what do you remember?"

He blinked as he closed his eyes and trying to get what he remembered. The hand still went through his hair and it was soothing his anxiousness and panic.

"I -um-, so I remember going out in the woods to get some herbs for Gaius. I ended up getting ambushed by bandits but somehow ended up escaping them. But the problem was I got exhausted and lost. I dozed off and then there are bits of pieces of me being half awake. It was weird, I felt sluggish, my mind was foggy. The next one would be being on someone's horse, but I can't really remember who was behind me. And then nothing..."

He furrowed his brows more and Arthur let out a sigh and looking down at him. The expression he showed was full of fear now.

"You almost got sold as a slave Merlin. Wouldn't I have found you fast enough, you would have been lost."

His eyes widen now as he heard him say this. His heart thundering in his chest as he realized how grave the situation really had been.

"T-thank you..."

He replied softly and Arthur let out another sigh as his expression was soft.

"I thought I lost you. I really did. God, that was one of the scariest moments I had. Actually more scary than the one you almost ended up getting burnt by the stake."

A shudder went through him at the memory of that one. Uther got told that he had magic, but in the end, he got rescued by Arthur, as he fought a duel for him being free. Which he won. They haven't said anything about their feelings at that time and he wasn't sure yet what he felt and Arthur as well. This was the second time he got rescued by the said sun-colored hair colored male.

"M'sorry."

He mumbled and Arthur's eyes softened as he was quiet for a moment.

"Don't. It wasn't your fault. How are you? Does anything hurt?"

The only thing he noticed that he felt still a bit sluggish as well as a slight dizziness, a headache and his stomach felt queasy.

"Headache, slight dizziness, slightly sluggish and stomach is queasy."

Was his reply. Arthur nodded at this and continued with going through his hair. It was making him sleepy and not too soon afterward he dozed off again. Merlin realized how much he valued Arthur now and it seemed he wasn't the only one. Arthur as well.

----

He woke up the next morning in a different bed and someone hugging him like a pillow. His eyes opened now and all he could see at first was a mop of blond hair. He realized that he was hugged by Arthur. His cheeks flushed, but he wasn't minding it. So that he snuggled into the warmth. He felt comfortable and protected, which was a pleasant feeling.

When Arthur woke up he stared first at him and soon a massive grin was seen on his lips. They talked about their feelings and decided to hide it for now, but as soon as Arthur would be king, he would tell the kingdom about his lover.

Not everything ended up bad and he was happy about how this all ended.

A/N I hope you enjoyed this and I am in need of ideas. I soon have none anymore and would really like to hear your ideas for one-shots. I hope you all are doing great and hope that I can at least help your through this hard time.
