Merthur/Merlin one shot

Under hypnotization (and almost getting eaten)

A/N this is another part of the tail one shot. 

Merlin felt an odd sense of  calm wash over him as vines were wrapped around him making him feel like he was laying on something comfortable. There was as well this glowing pattern that swirled around and he couldn't look away. His thoughts were slipping and he felt like he could continue staying this way forever. 

How it came to this he could numbly remember that it had been Gwaine's fault this time. But why he just couldn't remember. And by now he couldn't remember what exactly had been the fault of the other.

Another thing was that he knew he was alone but this was not even bothering him. His body was slowly getting closer to the mouth of this plant. (Not that he realized this until it was getting suddenly warmer). 

"Merlin!" A male voice called out of him but he couldn't be bothered to look away. The colors were pretty and the warmth was making him feel sleepy and want to  stay here in this homey feeling that he also felt. 

Even after he could hear the screeching his mind was too far away to get out of this calm and soothing state. Even after ending up on something hard. He couldn't care about anything at this point. 

With Arthur

He gave Gwaine a smack behind his head for losing Merlin as flirting with Lancelot making the other distracted, instead of looking after his -by now fiancé-. The three had been on a festival and he told Gwaine to watch over him as he had been forced to be on these boring meetings with other royals.

The call that came was making him know something had gone wrong. When Gwaine did explain himself he was really furious at the other. Seems like Merlin had ended up having an off day and because of this he got lost in the crowds without the two other morons realizing that they lost the young adult.

So that now they were searching for his clumsy fiancé. This was not something new that the male seemed to get quick lost. He had after all been just recently gotten the curse lifted. Even when he still could end up as a mermaid.

The fear of where Merlin could be and what exactly was right now happening made him shiver. HIs imagination was running wild and there was no good thing that his mind came up with. Either way they needed to hurry as people by now knew him as his fiancé.

The search took them thirty minutes and when they entered the forest he knew something was not right. This forest had rumors of people disappearing. People who never where found without any trace.

This felt like a really bad thing and so he decided to call his sister. Morgana instantly appeared with Mordred. They started to do their magic thing and soon walking away. Obviously with him following them. The fear grew even worse when he heard what this forest could have.

Either way he would have to make sure that Merlin would know the dangers from this forest but first he would need to get to him. As they went deeper he swallowed as seeing a person wrapped around vines.

The expression peaceful even after getting pulled closer into the hole that was there. It took him someone to whisper Merlin's name to realize that it had been him. His heart sank and fear for his boyfriend was enough for him to call the other out.

Yet there was no signs of a reaction and he glanced at the two magic users whose eyes were golden. There was a screech and the male fell on the ground. With an instant he dashed forward and pulling him away from this plant. As pulling the other into a protective hold, fearing for what could had happened. 

Yet the male continued to look dazed and not being there at all. It almost looked like he was in a trance. His throat felt dry and he pulled him closer as rushing over to the other two. They had a glance and he could hear them curse.

"Okay seems like we will need to get the other out of this state."

"But how, Morgana?"

"I don't know but this is bad." The two continued trying to figure out a way and he decided that maybe a shock could bring him out.

So with this he took a deep breath and hating  that he would do this but he had to. A smack sound was heard and the dazed look shattered in confusion. The gaze went around and staying on him. 

It was making him feel guilty but he knew that this was possibly one of the only things that would make the other startled. It was not even something that he liked to do but Arthur knew that Merlin would get shocked out of his mind when he would slap the other.

"Ouch w'y didya hit me?" The tone was enough to know that Merlin was still slightly under whatever had happened and he gave the other a look before letting out a sigh.

"You were in trance and the two other had not known how to get you out of it so I decided to do this. Did work or not?" His tone was apologetic but also sheepish. It made his boyfriend nod and snuggle into the arms.

"It was comfy and reaaally felt calm. As fuzzy warm..." Tone slurred and he could tell that the other would stay in this state for whenever they figured out a way to get him out. 

"Okay let's get you home, into comfy clothes and will not let you out of my sight in a long time."

"Mhm..." The mumbling was all that he got out and then they walked away. When being home he gave Gwaine the cold shoulder even when he looked guilty. There was just no way that he would let this one go for a while.

Merlin stayed in this state the entire time and was way too submissive for his liking. The only time he seen him in this state was when he dropped into his sub state when they had sex. But he really wanted his Merlin back and not this one.

It took three days for Morgana and Mordred to figure this out and he felt relieve to wash over when Merlin was looking at him with a look full of gratitude and also the two other magic users too. 

Gwaine was forgiven instantly by Merlin but he still held a grudge towards the other. Not that he would mention this to his fiancé. All was relatively well or so he thought as Merlin since then was clinging on him.

It was soon found out that the other had been scared that something like this would happen again and the fear was making him act this way. It took a lot convincing that even when this would happen again they know what to do. This eased Merlin enough to calm his worries down.
