Merlin had no idea what to do. Or how to fix this. All he knew that Arthur wasn't waking up. No medical things worked, and Gaius had no idea either. So that both knew now what caused it...magic. It was really not something that he would ever want Arthur to happen, but it happened.

This all wouldn't have happened when he would have stopped Morgana. When he wouldn't have protected, him. Then he wouldn't be right now in a coma. His heartfelt heavy and longed for his king. Longed for their playful bickering. But nothing.

Even after a week, there had been no change and everyone else was slowly losing hope. Other then him. He still hoped that he would wake up. This was why he went out and defeated her in pure rage.

Mordred was a different story. It seemed that Morgana had controlled the young druid. So that he profusely apologized.

Now there was a big issue. Camelot needed a king.

A big issue and what he hadn't known yet was that every one of the knights put out a competition for him being a king. So, when he came back with Mordred everyone dragged him to a council meeting. To his confusion because he shouldn't be there. A servant was not needed.

"Before you start Mordred was controlled by Morgana. I made sure that she would never harm our king anymore." A pause was given and he everyone starting to whisper. "Now that this is out of the way, what am I needed, Sire's ?" His voice neutral and he was straightening up.

"This makes our decision easier," Agravaine said and he looked even more puzzled at the other people.

"We held a meeting and we listened to other the people of Camelot and we found someone who would be a good substitute king until King Arthur wakes up." This time it was a different council member who said this.

All he could do was looking curious at this. Who would they choose? Arthur would for sure not like this, but he had not yet a Queen. So that that it was logical that this would happen and all he hoped was that they would choose the right person.

"Arthur mentioned a person more than once and he even wrote something. People seemed to agree with Arthur on this one." It was Percival who said this calmly and now he was even more curious, yet he waited patiently.

"You know that person." The next one was Gwaine who had mirth in his eyes, and he was even more curious now.

"Even the council can tell that this person has done so much for Camelot and protected it and as well the king. It was in the background but since the legalization of magic it was found out who it was." This time Lancelot said this. Like the others it was vague, and he furrowed his brows trying to find out who it was.

Mordred looked amused and seemed to know who they were talking but he was still not getting it.

"Come on Merlin. Who else would have done this and used it behind our backs and protected both Arthur and Camelot? Even defeated Morgana. There is just one person that has done this." An amused yet exasperated tone was used by Mordred and all he did was furrowing his brows and slowly his expression changed to realization and his finger pointed on him. And Arthur had known from his magic, but now it seemed that everyone knew about this or at least the knights and even the council.

"Yes, you." It was said this time by Leo who groaned soon as he looked confused now.

"Why? I am just a servant and don't even have any royal blood. So, wouldn't be usually someone with royal blood?" His voice dripped with confusion and everyone was letting out either a sigh, groan, or soft expression is given.

"Because there isn't one person who you don't know and even in the village they know and love you. Arthur did make sure that you would be the next king. He wrote it down and it's legal." His eyes stared at the council and he wasn't sure what to think.

"I don't think that I-..." His voice unsure and he really wasn't sure that he was the right choice. There were for sure other people who deserve this more than him.
