Merthur/Merlin one shot

Another kidnapping

This is a three-part series. In which, Person A appears or gets rescues and changed drastically. The person doesn't respond to the outside world at all. But then comes person B which is the only one who can get a reaction out of Person A. 

It was years now since Arthur had seen his best friend Merlin. They went together to high school and he suddenly went missing. Merlin was always someone who had talked back to him and told him, his opinion. And yes, the two argued a lot -which was mostly playful bickering- he still enjoyed his presence. By now everyone has given up, but not him. He could never give up hope. Not when there was still a chance left for the mentioned male could be alive.

Arthur by now was 24 years old and his best friend should be now 20 years old. He ended up getting the Excalibur corporation as his father died because of an illness. His father was someone who hadn't had a good relationship with, but it changed after the disappearance of his best friend. The male changed 180 degrees and ended up being a good father. It was strange to him and that was why when he died, his heart shattered.

He had no family members left -other then his sister Morgana- and that was painful. That had been a year ago and he let out a sigh. It was stressful being the boss of a corporation. So many things you must take care of, look at, sign and look after many of your workers. Arthur tried to be a good boss. A better one than his father had been. Because even when their relationship was better; as a boss, he was cold and failed. 

The door suddenly got thrown opened and Gwaine -his other best friend from high school which changes the school two months after Merlin's disappearance. The male had known Merlin as well. Funnily enough, these two were childhood friends. And they ended up knowing this because they started to talk about their childhood.

The two knew each other until their 13 age but then Merlin moved away. It was a funny coincidence that he would meet the childhood friend of Merlin. And that was how they got even closer and the male helped him to get through the death of his father.

"They found him."

That was all that was needed to be told to him. He pulled out his phone and telling his secretary Gwen, that he postpones all of his meetings. And that he would be away for the rest of the day. He wasn't even sure that he would get back at all for the week. He hung up afterward and messaging Morgana.

"Let's go. You tell me everything you know."

The two started to rush outside -with him, of course, locking his office room. Gwaine started to explain that the police were doing a raid. And they found the male locked in a room. Nothing much had been told through the phone. Hunith was the one who called Gwaine and he guessed it was because he wasn't reachable through his phone.

The entered the hospital and went to the receptionist. They got the number of the room Merlin resided and started to rush there. His heartbeat was going miles per hour and he felt both anticipations as well as concern. He could just hope that Merlin was fine. But that hope got shattered when he saw the expression of the female.

"Hey, how is he?"

The head turned to him and she swallowed first and then starting to sob. Seeing this made it clear that something hadn't been right. That something was horribly wrong with Merlin. He walked up and pulling the female in a hug. 

This was all he could do and he hoped that at least some comfort was given. The female hugged back and sobbed into his chest. It was painful to watch and to listen to. Hunith had waited so long for his son to come back and she was one of the only ones -with him- who hadn't given up on thinking that the male was alive. It was actually a miracle that the male was alive.

"Okay now that you calmed down more...want to tell me how he is?"

It was a few minutes later that Hunith finally calmed down enough to speak. Both were sitting on a chair right now and the female let out a heavy sigh. Expression weary and concern clearly have seen on her face.

"He is alive, but..."

Oh no. The hesitation meant never a good thing. His gut felt queasy and he felt now nervous about what would come next.

"There is no reaction. Almost as he wouldn't be there. The doctor can't seem to find out what is wrong with him. His body is healthy or as healthy it is with drugs in him. These people constantly drugged him up. By now it should be out of his system and they think that this had to do with his mindstate."

Oh dear god. What had they done to his best friend? What happened? Why was he in a condition like this? His heart was felt shattering now, but he would be strong. That was why he gave the female a squeeze on her shoulder and giving her an encouraging look.

"Maybe he will react to me or Gwaine. We can still try."

Hunith nodded at this but not saying anything. Gwaine was leaning on the wall and the two had eye contact for a moment. He gave a nod and started to walk inside the room. Gwaine would watch over the female.
