This au was originally requested by Jadetheruisimp a while ago but I'm bringing it back. Also happy pride month everyone!!!

Alpheus had been staying with Dolos for almost a month now. Things were going well, he and Dolos had a routine. Dolos would talk to customers and run errands while Alpheus studied and categories old maps and inscriptions. Dolos had even cleaned out an old room that he was using for storage so that Alphues would have a place to sleep.

One night while Dolos was gone Alpheus was sat out on deck reading, when he head someone clear their throat.

*Earlier that day*

Will had found another Lumurian symbol, he of course had absolutely no idea what it meant. So he reluctantly made his way to the floating market. Kaiko stayed home with the kids while he went to have a chat with Dolos.

When he reached Dolos' boat he was surprised to find a kid onboard. He knew for a fact that Dolos hated kids, he'd sworn up and down that he'd never have one, but there he was. The kid hadn't noticed him yet so he cleared his throat to get his attention.

"Oh, hello."

"Hello, whats your name?"

"I'm Alpheus and you are?"

"William, William Nekton."

"What do you want?"

"I'm looking for Dolos, is he here?"

"No but he'll be back soon."

Alpheus went back to reading his book, but he still kept an eye on William. He figured he might try to steal something and Dolos wouldn't like it if Alpheus just let him get way with it.

"Sooo, Alpheus, do you like to read?"

"Obviously."

"Well then what's your favourite?"

"Non of your damn business Nekton."

Any doubts William had about Alpheus being Dolos' kid was completely gone by this point. He had the same attitude, same distrust towards new people and the kid appeared to be reading one of Dolos' favourite books. It was a rare copy and Dolos wouldn't lend it to anyone not even him.

"William what a pleasant surprise."

Will turned to see Dolos walking up the gang plank. He did not look happy to see him.

"Hello to you to Dolos. Say I didn't know you had a kid."

"A kid? What are you talking about?"

"Alpheus, he's your son isn't he?"

"WHAT?! No no, no Alpheus is not my son he's my apprentice."

"Suuuure he is."

"I am not his father, Alpheus tell him."

Alpheus, who was still reading his book looked up and sighed.

"He's not my dad."

"You know, its ok Dolos you don't have to lie to me."

"I AM NOT LYING!!"

"Sure buddy."

"What. Do. You. Want!?"

William pulled a tablet out of his bag.

"I need you to translate these for me."

"Fine. But I'm charging extra."

William pull out a few old coins and handed them to Dolos. Alpheus recognised a few, they were pretty valuable.

"This will do."

Dolos sat down at his computer. While he was working Will tried talking to his kid again.

"So, Alpheus do you have a favourite colour."

".... Dolos I'm going to my room."

"Tried?"

"No, your friend is just annoying."

As soon as Alpheus had closed the cabin down Will turned to Dolos smiling.

"That is definitely your kid."

"He's. Not. My. Kid."

"Suuuure..... maybe we can do a play date with Fontaine, he looks about her age."

Dolos stood up and handed Will his tablet.

"The translations have been downloaded now leave."

"Fine fine."

William walked down the gang plank and Dolos let out a sigh of relife. He shut off his computer and went to bed

Dolos is just in denial, Alpheus is his kid he will just never admit it to anyone.
