I'm making this au cause I wanna see Alpheus dealing with a dragon obsessed lunatic of a brother.
Alpheus and Ant were on a walk. Alpheus had found some decently safe ruins and Ant was desperate to explore them. They were near the entrance of the cave when they heard a tiny growl.
"What was that?"
"I don't know, stay there I'll be right back."
Alpheus carefully walked forward. Right inside he found a tiny light fury. They were curled up against the wall. Alpheus carefully picked up the light fury smiled.
"Ant come take a look at this."
Ant immediately ran inside.
"What is it!? A Lumurian artefact!? A Mermaid!?"
Alpheus turned around holding the dragon in his arms.
"A DRAGON!!!!!!"
"Shhhhh, she's sleeping."
"She's soo cute!!! And small, I thought dragons were a lot bigger?"
"She's a baby, Ant. She'll get bigger."
"Where ate her parents, I thought dragons never abandon their kids."
"I don't know Ant, but we should leave her here."
"Oooor, we could take her home."
"No."
"Pleeeeeeaaaaassssseeeee!!!!"
"No Ant she's a wild animal we are not keeping her I'm putting my foot down."
Ant glared and Alpheus glared back.
Five minutes later they were walking home.
"Happy now?"
"Very.... what should we name her?"
Ant wanted to name the dragon Antalina but Alpheus convinced him to call her Kai. Kai was very happily sitting on Alpheus' shoulders as they made their way back home. Ant was babbling about all the ways they could make their submarine more dragons friendly.
"We could make the ceilings higher, ooo! And we could add a dragon feeding station, feed ten dragons at once!!"
"We have one dragon Ant."
"Buuut we could find more!"
"No."
Ant ran onto Aria and made his way to his room.
"I'm gonna draw up plans for our dragon utopia!!"
"We're not doing that!"
"Yes we are!!!!!"
Alpheus sighed. Kai licked his face then jumped down onto the floor.
"Gross."
Kai cooed and looked up at him.
"Mm you must be hungry."
Alpheus started walking towards the kitchen, Kai followed. He sat her on one of the chairs in the kitchen while Alpheus started looking for something for her to eat.
"Do you like stake?"
Alpheus held it up to her she sniffed it a few times before shaking her head. She jumped towards the fridge.
"Hey careful."
Kai grabbed a fish off of one of the lower shelves and swallowed it whole. Alpheus blinked a few times before closing the fridge.
"Well, that's sorted."
Alpheus jumped when he heard a loud thump outside the door. A second later Ant ran in.
"LOOOK!!!!!"
Ant held up a piece of paper.
"It's a feeding station!!! And and a dragon perch!!! Kai can sit up high, she likes it up high don't you Kai."
Ant scratched Kai's chin and she cooed.
"Ant, we only have one dragon."
"For now."
"Ant, no. No more dragons."
"But Kai will get lonely!"
"We're not keeping her. She's a wild animal Ant, she can stay until she's strong enough to survive on her own but then we've gotta let her go."
"So you just wanna kick her out? Like the Guardians did to us?"
Alpheus stop and turned to Ant. He was holding Kai and glaring at him.
"Ant, that's, that's different."
"Is it? She's like us. She was abandoned to!!"
"Ant."
"We're all she's got we can't just kick her out."
"Ant."
"It's not fair, she's a kid to! She shouldn't have to be alone!"
"Ant, you're right."
"You can't honestly.... wait? What?"
Alpheus smiled and pulled Kai out of Ant's grip.
"You're right, she is like us."
Kai cooed and snuggled closer to him.
"She's a misfit, like us and we misfits need to look out for eachother."
Ant hummed.
"Come on, it's getting late you should go to bed."
"Can I sleep with you?"
"Sure."
"And Kai too?"
Alpheus sighed.
"Fine, Kai too. Now go brush your teeth."
Ant smiled and ran off down the hall. Alpheus looked down at the sleeping dragon in his arms. He didn't know what he was going to do. It was hard enough taking care of Ant all on his own but now he had a dragon to take care off to. Alpheus pulled Kai a little closer to his chest, took a deep breath and told himself everything would be ok.
Alpheus is a little hesitant about taking Kai onboard because he thinks she might hurt Ant. In the httyd au it's just him and he doesn't really care.
Guys exams have been stressing me out, I've only got a few more left but updates are going to be really random for a while after that while I try to get my motivation back. Sorry.
