Ant's not having a great day. Tw border line child abuse. Panic attacks if you squint.
Ant couldn't sleep. He'd no idea if his parents had made it out. His sister. His fish. Were they hurt? Were they even still alive. Whatever Protues had done it didn't sound good. The Aronnax, his home could be wrecked at the bottom of the ocean. And he was stuck here. Alone.
He was eventually dragged out of bed by Protues. He insisted on beginning his guardian training then and there. No time for breakfast. No time to feel sad.
Guardian training was mind numbingly boring. He wad only half and hour in and about to pull our his hair. It didn't help that all Ant could think about was his stomach. He stared up at Protues as he went off on his third tangent of the day. He wondered if maybe he could sneak out without him noticing. Protues spent most of his time talking to the black board. And the door was right beside him.
It went surprisingly well. Protues didn't even pause as Ant silently rushed out the door. He was grinning ear from ear as he walked around the submarine. Finally something was going his way. Now he just needed to find the kitchen. Or preferably an open air lock.
After ten minutes of wondering around Ant yelled out in frustration.
"WHY CAN'T I FIND ANYTHING ON THIS STUPID SUBMARINE!?!"
"What are you trying to locate Antaeus?"
Aria chimed him.
"Ah-! Oh hi Aria... do - do you know where the kitchen is?"
"Of course. Continue down the hall."
"Thank you Aria."
With Aria's assistance he finally found the kitchen. This kitchen itself was rather small and had more than a few burn marks up the walls near the stove top... and toaster.. and microwave... and the fridge?.. sink... pretty much everywhere. Ant didn't have to much time to think about it he was to preoccupied looking for food.
He managed to find some frozen waffles buried deep in the freezer. Ant smiled as he popped them into the toaster and started hunting for something to top them with. He eventually had to settle for butter with a sprinkling for sugar. Not what he'd usually go for but it would have to do.
He was almost finished when Alpheus dragged himself in. He stumbled silently to one of the cupboards, grabbing out some cereal and moving to the next one to grab a bowl and spoon. After pouring himself a bowl he grabbed the coffee pot and made his way to the table and sat down.
".... did.... did you forget the milk? And maybe a cup?"
Ant said as Alpheus stared slightly confused at the bowl infront of him. For the first time since he entered Alpheus meet his gaze and poor the steaming coffee into the bowl.
Ant raised an eyebrow. Alpheus glared as he ate.
"How does it taste?"
"Shut up."
Ant stifled a laugh by stuffing his face as Alpheus continued to eat his god awful creation.
"Is... is it actually good or are you trying to prove a point?"
"It's not half bad, try it."
Alpheus said grabbing another spoon and handing the bowl over to Ant. Ant took a cautious bite... it was surprisingly good.
"Wow."
"I know right?"
Alpheus replied as he took his breakfast back. As he continued eating Ant nervously twiddled his thumbs.
