Poor baby. He's ill. Neither him nor his dad were ready for this.

Christmas had gone well, Alpheus had got plenty of stuff to decorate his room as well as toys and plenty of comic books (curtesy of Ant). All in all it was really coming together. They'd even been making changes to the Aronnax to allow Aria to become fully integrated into their systems. Alpheus was hesitant to transfer her over. Worried that something could go wrong and Aria could become unretrievable.

Despite this the Nektons were hopefull and had set up a date to head to home base with the stinger. Hoping with Fictions help the transfer would go smoothly. Fiction wanted to have a conversation with Alpheus so the two of them could go over some finer details. When Ant went to find him he was surprised to find him still curled up in bed.

"Alpheus? Are you alright?"

Alpheus mumbled not even lifting his head. Ant gave him a quizzical look before the boy broke into a coughing fit. Ant helped him sit up and waited for the fit to finish. When it did, he gently rubbed his back and waited for him to catch his breath.

"You feeling alright?"

"No. I couldn't sleep, my throat hurts and I'm cold."

Alpheus whined. Ant placed his hand against his forehead.

"Mh. You've got a fever, I'll get you some tea and some medicine."

Ant stood up. Alpheus lundged at him.

"Woah. Are you ok?"

Alpheus mumbled in response before curling up next to Ant.

"Alpheus?"

He was answered by more mumbles.

"Ok, I'll ask your grandma to get some for you, ok?"

Ant pulled the blanket around him as he shivered. Alpheus nodded, letting out a small thank you.

"Mum, you there?"

"I'm here, is something wrong?"

"Alpheus has a fever and isn't feeling well. Could you grab some medicine and tea for him?"

"Is his throat sore?"

"It is why?"

"Ask him if he'd ask like ice cream instead."

Ant looked down at Alpheus.

"I want hot chocolate."

"He said he wants hot chocolate."

"That I can do. I'll be there in five minutes."

"Thank you."

By the time Kaiko showed up Alpheus had been wrapped up in a blanket and was curled up in Ant's arms.

"Is he alright?"

"I'm fine."

Alpheus' voice was muffled by the blankets, but Kaiko could hear how scratchy it sounded.

"He's got a bit of a fever, and a cough."

"Mmh, poor baby."

"Don't call me that."

Alphues glared, trying to be intimidating, Ant thought it was adorable. Kaiko did to, and smiled while handing him the medication and the hot coco.

"Here, you'll feel better soon. What do you want for breakfast?"

"I'm not hungry."

"Not even for cookies?"

Alpheus shook his head, that got Ant worried.
