The Deep Oneshots Part 2

The Nektons had stumbled apon an old Lumurian ruin. It looked much older than others they'd seen. The pillars but the entrance had long fallen down and there was moss covering almost every surface. Despite the countless hour of Lumurian classes with Nereus the Nektons could only decipher one word, "Outsiders." The Nektons had no idea what it meant but decided to continuie forward cautiously.

They weren't far past the entrance, maybe only ten meters, when Kaiko started to feel hot. To hot. The walls started spinning.

"Guys, I-I think somethings wrong."

"What is it K-"

Before William could finish his sentence Kaiko collapsed. They all immediately ran over to her.

"She's burning up, we need to get her back to the Aronnax."

The kids nodded and ran to get the med bay set up. Will gently lifted Kaiko up and quickly followed them.

But the time they'd made it back to the Aronnax Kaiko's fever had already broken. It was strange to say the least, all signs of Kaiko's illness had disappeared just as quickly as they'd began. It wasn't long before she woke up.

"Mum, are you ok?"

"I'm fine. I'm just really, really hungry."

Will smiled.

"Well it is almost dinner time, I'll get start but you should get some rest."

Kaiko lay back down on the bed and fell asleep. Ant and Fontaine agreed to keep and eye on her while their dad made dinner.He was almost done when Fontaine ran in.

"Somethings wrong with mum!!"

Will immediately left the kitchen and ran to the med bay. Kaiko was sat up in bed, her right arm was covered in blue and pink scales, her finger nails had grown into claws and her pupils were no longer round.

Ant was stood right next to the door. He looked scared.

"Kaiko?"

Kaiko snapped her head around to look at him. She let out a low growl. It was only then that Will noticed the small horns on her head.

"Kaiko it's ok, its me Will."

Kaiko growled louder as Will tried coming forward. Suddenly she jumped out of the bed and ran at him. Will jumped out of her way and Kaiko continued to run down the corridor. They all followed her.

Will was panicking, he had no idea what was causing this, or what this was. He had a suspicion that the ruins had something to do with it but if so why was Kaiko the only one effected.

Kaiko ran into the storage bay. There was no other way out. The trio caught there breath before going inside. When they opened there was nothing. Kaiko must have hidden behind one of the boxes, or so they thought. The three made there way inside. Soon they heard a thump followed by a low growl. They turned around and saw a dragon.

The dragon had long twisting horns, sharp claws at the tips of its wings and sharp spines running down its neck. But most importantly, its scales where blue and pink.

"...Kaiko?"

Kaiko stared at them. Then she came just a little closer and pushed her head into William's chest. She let out a whine before she collapsed onto the floor. She erupted into fire, the Nektons jumped back. When the fire subsided Kaiko human again.

They didn't know why it had happened. The didn't know if it would happen again. But they knew that they'd get through this, together.

You know as soon as they find Nereus there going to drag answers out of him. Plus dragon Kaiko is terrifying. Imagine your Alpheus or Hammerhead and your just threatening the Nektons then this massive dragon comes out of no where.

Also Kaiko is a monstrous nightmare and can light herself on fire. That's gonna be a huge surprise for everyone.
