Tw: Kidnapping, violence, blood, implied death. Like Dagur straight up kills the man off screen.
Heather had been dragged out of bed at the crack of dawn by her brothers. Despite the early hours Alpheus was bouncing off the walls, he was chatting away to Dagur who was nodding along still visibly exhausted.
"Heather, are you sure you want to bring your dragon along? The market is full of hunters."
"All the more reason to bring her, besides if we lose him," she gestured to the kid who was constantly excited for this market trip. "We can search for him in the air, easier to spot him that way."
Dagur nodded.
"I suppose you're right.... you know what else would make him easier to spot!"
Dagur headed down below deck and returned a minute later with the helmet from the other day. He put it back on the kids head.
"There, perfect."
As soon as the gang plank lowered Alpheus was off like a speed stinger, windshear sprinted after him. Dagur and Heather followed at their own pace, sure the dragon would keep the kid safe.
Dagur and Heather spent most of the day being dragged around various stalls by the little dragon hunter. Many of the people didn't seem to glad to see him. One of them called him a rodent and Heather had to grab her brother before he could jump over the counter to strangle the man. They'd gotten a hefty discount though, Alpheus had seemed quite pleased with it.
The helmet had been a great idea. The kid kept running off before they could properly secure the supplies to windshear's saddle, much to Heather's annoyance and Dagur's concern. The helmet was easily recognisable, can could actually be spotted from fairly far away. It was the only reason they hadn't lost him in this crowd of people. Dagur had lectured him a few times but the kid just didn't seem to listen.
It was close to midday, the trio and the dragon were sitting down for some lunch. That's when Heather noticed two cloaked figures. She could have swore she saw them earlier. She quietly caught her dragons attention and signaled her to keep an eye on them. The dragons turned her head and sneered. The cloaked figures left quickly after that.
After the boys had thoroughly stuffed there face they continued on. Alpheus promised there wasn't much left to get and Heather hadn't see the cloaked figures again, so she decided she'd drop off the supplies they'd already gotten while the boys gathered the last few things.
Dagur was finalising a deal with a less than pleasant merchant, when Alpheus spotted something out of the corner of his eye. A stall selling tools of all shapes and sizes. Without thinking he ran over to take a look. He'd barely even gotten a look, when someone grabbed him from behind and covered his mouth so he couldn't scream.
As they started dragging him away Alpheus bit the hand and kick out trying to get away. He only got away for a moment, before someone else grabbed his leg causing him to trip and his helmet to fall off. Alpheus screamed.
"DAGUR!!!!! HEL- MHM!!"
Someone gagged him, someone else grabbed his arms and started dragging him away.
Dagur had sprinted over to where he heard his brother scream. But there was a large crowd, it was hard to get through. By the time he did they were gone. They'd left his helmet, and drag marks on the ground. Dagur put the helmet on, drew his axe, and followed until the drag marks stopped. He marched towards the nearest vendor, the man had served them earlier in the day, seeing the wrath in Dagur's eyes he thought it best not to keep him waiting and fearfully pointed in the direction he'd seen last seen the kidnappers. He let out a huge sigh of relief when the Berserker Cheif turned, sprinting, hoping to catch up before they could get him off the island.
