It continues!!!

It had been a few weeks since Dolos had decided to adopt Alpheus. As hard as he'd tried he couldn't ever seem to bring the topic up in front of Alpheus. He didn't know how Alpheus would take it. Of course it didn't help that the Nektons kept showing up and trying to adopt Alpheus before he could.

There had been six separate incidents of Alpheus having to run and hide from Kaiko. The last time it had happened Alpheus refused to leave his room for almost three days. Dolos honestly couldn't blame him, he would be terrified if Kaiko was trying to adopt him too.

Dolos eventuality managed to lure Alpheus out of his room with the promise to ban the Nektons from his submarine. The next day Alpheus had made a sign that said, "no dogs, no police and no Nektons." Dolos helped him hang it at the entrance to the boat.

The next time the Nektons showed up there was a lot of yelling.

"What do you mean no Nektons?!"

"You keep trying to steal my apprentice, so you're all banned."

"Come on, we really need your help this time!"

"To bad, goodbye."

Dolos walked inside only to find Alpheus hiding under the table.

"Hey, they're gone now you can come out."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I'm sure. Come on I'll make some hot chocolate."

"Yay!!!"

Alpheus jumped out from under the table and climbed up onto a chair. Dolos smiled and shook his head before grabbing the coco powder.

When the two had finished their hot chocolate Dolos decided it was time. He couldn't hold this off any longer.

"So Alpheus I was thinking. You know the way Kaiko is trying to adopt you?"

Alpheus nodded.

"Well I was thinking... what if I adopted you instead?"

"... so you'd be my dad?"

"Only if you wanted me to be, you don't have to dec-"

Before Dolos could finish Alpheus ran over and hugged him. Dolos smiled and hugged him back.

"Alright, I have the papers in my bedroom, I can give them to a friend of mine and have hem through by the end of the week. How does that sound?"

"It sounds great dad.... is it ok if I call you dad?"

"Of course. Now let's get these dishes clean ok?"

"Ok dad!"

"Don't let William here you call me that tho, I'll never hear the end of it."

Alpheus laughed and nodded.

"Don't worry I won't."

Later that night Will cake over to try and get Dolos to take the sign down.

"Sorry William but no. I'm not taking it down."

"Come on, I've talked to Kaiko and she promised not to try anything."

"You said that last time!"

"I really mean it this time Dolos!"

"I'm sorry William but no. Now please get off my boat."

".... Will you translate these while I do?"

"Will it get you to leave?" 

"Yes."

"Fine, give it to me."

Will handed Dolos the tablet then walked down the gang plank. Dolos sighed and headed inside. He sat at the table and started trying to decider the old text. Alpheus eventually walked over and handed him a cup of coffee.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome! What are you doing."

"Will wants me to translate this, he's waiting on the docks for me to finish."

"They're annoying."

"I couldn't agree more."

Kaiko: I want to adopt Alpheus.
Dolos: not if I do it first!!
