Got struck with this idea randomly, and thought it was pretty funny
Alpheus and Ant's ages get swapped Fontaine is 19
Ant is 18
Alpheus is 12 coming 13
It was a fairly ordinary day. The Nektons had been called to retrieve a fallen woa satellite before it could reek havoc on the local ecosystem. You know typical Nekton things.
Thing had been going well so far. They had found the data back the satellite had been carrying. Ant and Fontaine were waiting on the surface for someone to come get it. A small boat came speeding towards them stopping not far away.
"Finally. Here we've got your hard drive-"
Any was cut off as the guy grabbed it.
"Right.."
Ant said looking the man over as Fontaine started talking. He couldn't see much through the tinted helmet but the guy was short. Shorter than Daniels. Before Fontaine could finish they turned and left.
"Well that was weird."
"I'll say."
Just then they got a call from the woa telling them they were on their way.
"But if that wasn't the woa then who was that?"
"Let's go find out."
The two gave chase. It didn't take them long to catch up. Any jumped up and heald onto the side of the boat ordering the driver to stop. They didn't say anything just began to swerve the boat until he was thrown off. After quickly checking on her brother jumped up onto the front of the boat. The driver tried the same move again but couldn't get rid of her before she pulled off the steering wheel ending the chase. Ant finally catching up appeared in the water beside them.
"Impressive."
The man said. Before dropping the disguse to reveal.... a kid?
"What?!"
"Let's see if you can keep up."
The kid said before jumping into the water.
Fontaine and Ant shared a bewildered look before diving in after him.
Fontaine was impressed that the kid managed to get back to us submarine before they could catch him. She was not impressed that her brother had decided to follow him inside to quote on quote "talk to his parents." She hadn't been able to tell him how bad of an idea that was before the air lock doors had slammed shut and they'd lost communications. She'd been banging on the air lock door for the last five minutes but it hadn't made a difference.
Meanwhile Ant was walking through the halls looking for the bridge. The disembodied voice was being kind enough to help him out.
When he finally go there the chair was turned away from him.
"Uh...hello?"
"Antaeus Nekton-" the kid responded spinning around in his chair "my name is Alpheus Benthos"
"Uh huh."
"I wanted to meet you."
"Meeting on the boat wasn't good enough for you kid?"
Just then a feed of Fontaine banging on the side of the sub popped up.
"Fontaine?"
"Is fine! Aria make her more fine."
Ant watched the door open up letting Fontaine inside. Before turning back to the kid.
"So you are destin to be my nemesis."
Ant looked blankly at this kid. Nemesis? With a ten year old?!
"Yeah I think I'll pass. Can I talk to your parents so we can get this whole mess sorted out?"
The kid looked dumbfounded.
"What no!! You can't pass on destiny!!"
"I can, and I did... look if you don't want to get your parents involved that's fine but can we please have the hard drive back."
After a brief pause the kid threw it at him.
"Hey! Be careful with that!"
"Why! I don't need it anymore, I already got everything I need."
The kid pulled up a massive map.
"The most comprehensive map of the underwater world ever made."
Ant had to admit it was a little impressive. The woa had done good work with the satellite.
"But I'm more interested in finding Lumuria."
Ant looked at the kid. He looked like he was running of fumes. Seriously where we're his parents. Or any responsible adults. He would even settle for Finn right now.
Then Protues walked in and things started making a little more sense.
He almost immediately put himself between Protues and the kid. Sure that whatever the man was up to he wouldn't like. He drowned out half of their conversation as he started thinking.
"Alpheus how old are you?"
Alpheus looked shocked and a little annoyed.
"I don't see what that has to do with anything."
"Humour me."
"... I'm twelve but I'll be thirteen next month!!"
Ant might do a lot of stupid things. But leaving a kid alone with a crazy man who almost killed him a few months back. Even he wasn't that stupid.
Mid rant he scoops up the kid and starts walking towards the exit.
"Let go of me!!!"
The kid screamed thrashing about.
"Nope. Sorry kid, your coming with me."
It after getting him off his submarine it wasn't hard to get him back to the Aronnax. He couldn't get his arms free to fire any emp charges or call for help so he just screamed and kicked at them while they rushed back.
When they were a little over half way there the kid let it slip that the satellite was going to explode. Ant and Fontaine moved considerably faster after that.
The plan worked. They sent the satellite up into the sky. Just in time. The Nektons let out a collective sigh of relief before will and Kaiko turned to their kids.
"So... who's your friend."
"His names Alpheus."
"He's my son."
"I AM NOT YOUR SON I AM YOUR WORST ENEMY!!!!"

Ant cannot take his self proclaimed nemesis seriously, this will annoy Alpheus to no end. Fontaine will make fun of him mercilessly when Alpheus escapes and then kidnaps Ant a second time.
The Nektons don't really work with the Guardians in this au. They were already suspicious and after the Protues incident will fight them on sight.
