Patton watched as everything happened in slow motion. The liquid, whatever it was, spilled down from the bucket and got on his banner, before hitting their new principal. Then she had demanded them at her office. Patton never got in trouble. He never even got his apple moved from green to yellow in first grade. Now he was probably gonna get detention! Patton heard laughter from his left, and he turned to look at the culprits. Sure enough, Remus and Janus were on the ground laughing. He stormed over to them, his hands balled in fists, and waited for them to stop their antics before he spoke to them. However, he never even got the chance.

"Remus you ass! I have auditions soon, and I can't audition if I'm in detention!" Roman cursed as he walked over to his giggling brother.

"Yes. When you told me you had an exciting activity, you told me that it wasn't against school rules." Logan said, a bit monotone for the anger written on his face.

"I mean, it was funny though!" Remy defended.

"It would have been funny if we were all okay with it!" Patton protested. "But you guys didn't even ask!"

Remus, who had finally calmed down enough to talk, started to apologize, "Look, I'm sorry, but-"

"Sorry to interrupt, but my mom won't be any happier if you keep her waiting." The new kid's voice came from behind Patton.

"You're right." Patton said, and begrudgingly helped Janus and Remus up from the ground, before turning and walking into the school without another word.

***********

Patton's school day was hell after that. The principal had smelled so badly when he saw her that he hadn't really heard what she'd said. Well, except the part about him having detention for the week. After that, Patton was probably the quietest he'd ever been at school, which was still more talkative than most people, and had to message his dads that he wouldn't be back because of a club event. He didn't like to lie, but he really wasn't interested in the idea of having that conversation while at school.

To keep his mind off of what awaited in the next ten minutes, Patton spent his time planning for his clubs. He had already told the GSA he was going to be absent for the week, and the student council was more understanding once they heard what happened. He had called the shelter he volunteered at and let them know the situation too. Now he was writing down a list of things they might need to know while he wasn't able to come.

RING

Patton sighed, and grabbed the lists for the different clubs in his hands. Thankfully, he was in a class with the vice president of the GSA, a friend of his named Ember, and let them know that if there were any other things they needed that they could text, but Patton might not answer. Then Patton went to the student council president, a girl named Kimberly, and gave her the other list, before running to get to detention before he got in more trouble for being late. He sprinted towards the front entrance, and after tripping into some freshman and apologizing profusely, he was able to get there right before the others started to get onto one of the small buses the school owned. The principal was waiting by the door, now Remus-prank free.

"Patrick, are you always this tardy?"

"No ma'am, I am a part of a few clubs and-"

"I don't really need excuses. Just get on the bus before they leave."

"Yes ma'am." Patton said before sprinting towards the bus and getting on. He noticed that Janus and Remus were sitting beside each other, and Roman was beside the new kid, so Patton walked up to Logan. "Hey Logan, may I sit here?"

Logan looked out the window suddenly, confusing Patton. "Of course."

"Thanks!" Patton plopped down beside him as the bus lurched forward towards their detention.
