Patton watched Remus salute and disappear before his eyes, and waited a moment, before he texted Logan.
Patton: Hey, Lo. Did you wanna swing by today? We can read some more.
There was a moment before Logan responded, but eventually Patton saw the text bubbles pop up. He hoped Logan could come. He really wanted to ask him about last night. He wasn’t completely sure if it had been real or not.
Logan: Yes. I can be there in a few minutes. I would enjoy reading with you today.
Patton squealed quietly into his pillow, before he began cleaning his room. He didn’t want Logan seeing his room like this. There were clothes strung over every piece of furniture, and Patton was soon chucking his stuffed animals into his closet like he had done his sexuality. He was still scrambling when his pops came in to offer breakfast and to tell him Logan was here.
“Okay, I’ll-”
His pops handed him a plate of food. “Don’t tell your dad. I’m downstairs if you or you-” He looked behind him. “-need me.” Patton smiled as his pops moved and Logan came into view. He was wearing a new set of undamaged glasses, and Patton giggled that Logan had spares like he did. He waved Logan in with his free hand, setting the plate on his dresser as he did.
“Hello Patton.” Logan looked around, a bit surprised to see Patton’s room. There was a small wash of pink over his cheeks, and Patton fought to keep both feet on the ground. “I am surprised I do not see any stuffed animals.”
“Wh- what?” Patton waved Logan off like he didn’t have a closet full in his room, all hurriedly shoved in.
“There is no shame, I myself am rather fond of them.” Logan admitted, adjusting his glasses to hide his blush.
“You are?” Patton asked, cocking his head softly.
“I am. They are great stress relievers and a nice comfort when I am overwhelmed.”
Patton grinned sheepishly. “I am too… I hid mine so you wouldn’t think I was weird.”
Logan frowned. “You never need hide anything that you enjoy from me, Patton. I…” He stumbled over his words, before giving up and repeating himself. “You should never feel the need to hide something you love from people you care about.”
Patton smiled, sitting on his bed. “Lo, about this morning…”
“We were half asleep. We were both shocked from the recent news and weren-” Logan ran through words quickly, like he was listing all the reasons for why it happened.
“Stop giving me an out.” Patton giggled. “I don’t want an out, Lo.”
“You do not?”
“Why would I?”
“Would you like that in chronological, or alphabetical order?”
Patton laughed harder. “Neither. I don’t want an out because the guy standing before me is perfect for me as is.”
“I-” Logan looked a bit startled, before he sat down on the bed next to Patton. “I am?”
“Absolutely.”
“Then, would you do me the honor of letting this be a date?” Logan smiled at him.
Now it was Patton’s turn to be speechless, and he felt heat in his face and ears. “Of course. On one condition.”
“What is that?”
“I want a real one.”
Logan frowned. “One what?”
