Remus was still looking at Logan’s arm in a mix of shock and adrenaline. Logan’s suit was still perfectly blue, and he wondered if the ranger would even have a bruise.

“Oh sure, I can get my ass handed to me by a middle school art project, but they’re bulletproof.” Virgil complained, but Remus could hear the relief in his voice.

“Remus, go ahead and open the Sanctuary. That way we can let Janus know what happened.” His brother instructed. Remus nodded, and opened the portal to let the others through, following at the back and closing it. Janus was still waiting by the entrance, and was holding his arms until he saw them all come back through. Remus couldn’t help but grow red until his helmet when the other ranger looked at him, clearly relieved to see him back.

“What happened?” Janus asked, walking over as Remus deactivated.

“No offense, Logan, but your parents are dicks.” Remus quipped as he put his arm around Janus’s shoulders.

“Parents?” Janus looked over as Logan changed back as well.

“Remus.” Patton fussed, demorphing and putting an arm on Logan’s shoulder.

“Deactivate.” Roman’s voice came from Remus’s left. “The military sergeants we talked with were Logan’s parents. They were less than considerate to us, and we had to dip quickly to avoid being shot.”

“On the upside.” Virgil spoke up. “Our suits are bulletproof.”

“Jesus, I need coffee.” Janus complained, reaching with his free hand to rub his face. Remus smiled, looking down as his boyfriend feeling more grateful now than before that they were all relatively safe for the time being.

“Well, we aren’t exactly equipped for that yet,” Remus smiled, “But I can pick you up something.”

“You will have to do it after you return myself, Patton, and Virgil to our homes.” Logan said, adjusting his busted glasses.

“Oh shoot, yeah.” Remus nodded, pulling away from Janus as he opened the portal back up. “Who’s first?”

“I will go.” Logan nodded, before saying a brief goodbye and stepping out. Remus followed and closed it back. “Do you need me to send my house’s location again?”

“Nah, I still remember it.” Remus said, putting his arm around Logan’s shoulders as the smaller guy attempted to brush away his arm. Remus thought back to the room he’d grabbed Logan from, and felt his power pull him there. He blinked, and saw Logan’s room in front of him. “See? No-”

“Hush, please. It is still early and I do not need my family believing I have a friend in my room.” Logan fussed, walking away to sit on his bed. Remus watched him pull open his nightstand drawer, and pull out an identical set of glasses. Remus chuckled to himself as Logan looked back at him. “I like to keep a few spare sets.” He explained.

“Whatever, dude. I’mma peace out, text if you need somethin’.” Remus did a two finger salute before pulling himself back to the clearing. He reopened the portal, and poked his head through. “Who’s next?”

“I’ll go!” Patton’s voice came through. Remus thought it was weird that if he didn’t completely go into the Sanctuary, like he couldn’t quite see anything, but he could sense how many people stood by the door. That was how he’d noticed the military before he’d stuck his face out. Remus pulled his head back out, and Patton came through. Remus closed it back.

“I don’t know exactly where you live, Pat, so you’ll have to guide me.”

“I can fly us there, I just need you to get me into my bedroom.” Patton explained. “I accidentally let my window lock when I went to meet you yesterday.” He rubbed the back of his neck, embarrassed.
