Virgil woke up, looking up at the stars in the Sanctuary and feeling a warm hand in his. His mind was fuzzy, and he felt himself searching for a memory he didn't know. Then the warmth hit him. He was warm. Not just his hand, but all of him. He was warm, and he felt happy and loved and warm. Loved. He loved someone, didn't he?

"Virgil?"

He felt his heart break, he knew that voice. He knew he knew that voice. It was the one that soothed him to sleep at night, or teased him with nicknames that Virgil secretly loved. Virgil looked over at the voice, and saw him. His curly ass hair that always tangled in Virgil's fingers. His eyes that made Virgil feel like someone was looking at all the best parts of him.

"Roman." Virgil smiled, leaning close and pressing his lips to the others, feeling the warmth spread through him as Roman kissed back. Virgil pulled at Roman's shirt, trying to get him to come closer. Roman obliged, climbing onto the bed awkwardly while keeping his lips on Virgil's. His hands slid on Virgil's waist, and Roman laid down next to him, pulling away to look at Virgil again.

"You remember?"

"Getting there."

"It's okay." Roman smiled, but his eyes watered.

"You're crying." Virgil said, reaching up and wiping the tears. Roman leaned into his fingers.

"So are you." Roman's hands wiped water off Virgil's cheeks too.

"We are both babies."

"I'm just so happy to hold you." Roman said, curling his hand over Virgil's waist. Virgil leaned closer.

"I love you." Virgil said, feeling a bit of pain in his head as he did. "I love you."

"I love you, Virgil." Roman whispered as if it were a prayer.

Virgil felt his mind open a memory, pushing it into his brain as if it needed to remember.

I don't love him.

Virgil looked at Roman. "I didn't mean what I said. To her, I mean."

"About what?"

"I told her I didn't love you, so she wouldn't hurt Patton."

"I know, Virge. I know you didn't mean it. I love you because you risked it all for those you loved."

"I love you, Roman." Virgil said, smiling. "I do, I do, I do."
