Virgil's dreams had been pleasant for a while, and he could swear he could hear Roman's voice talking to him as he dreamed of them on a date in the woods, eating food and watching My Little Pony. His dreams changed after a while, however, and had been filled with him fighting the others, or the Dragon Witch whispering in his ears. He'd dreamed over and over about the moment he was taken, and he could hear his father begging his son to save him. Even so, Virgil hadn't been ready to wake up and deal with the Witch again. He wasn't ready to answer more questions, and he wasn't ready to out his friends again. It wasn't until he'd begun to feel pain in his neck and a warm hand in his that he'd opened his eyes.

Instantly, his head throbbed, pounding like it had a heartbeat of its own. His muscles ached too, everywhere from his chest to his legs, and his neck hurt like someone had stabbed him. Virgil tried to close his eyes again, but he heard someone gasp. Shit. She was going to ask more questions. He wasn't going to be able to fight it again. He was going to tell her everything. He couldn't-

"He's waking up." Patton's soft voice came from Virgil's right.

Patton? Oh god, had he hurt them? Worse, had he caught them? Virgil opened his eyes again, ignoring the pain to see Patton looking down at him.

"Hey Virgil... It's okay, you're in the Sanctuary." Patton spoke barely above a whisper. Virgil looked around with his eyes, his neck still hurting too much to move, and began to see stars above him. The smell of Roman's blankets filled his nose.

Virgil let out a breath, before feeling his eyes burn. "I can't-" He tried, but broke into coughs before he could finish. "I've got a-"

"It's okay." Patton said again. "Logan's sister already got rid of your chip. You're safe."

Virgil moved to sit up, with an argument from Patton that he ignored, and his vision swam in front of him.

"Virgil!" Janus called, sitting on the air mattress with Remus.

Virgil grimaced a bit. "Too loud."

Janus stood, walking over before sitting on the ground beside him. "The others are getting some food for the lounge. Roman was refusing to leave you."

"How-" Virgil coughed again, before looking back. "How long was I out?"

"A day and a half." Janus said, and Virgil sucked in a breath, before breaking into more coughs.

"What?" Virgil asked again. He must've misheard. That long? What about his mom?

"I'm calling Roman now." Remus said as he walked closer.

Virgil couldn't help but tense up. Hadn't he fought Roman? Oh god, he must hate Virgil now. The best thing that had ever happened to him and Virgil had killed it. He felt his eyes burn with tears, and Patton moved to gently rub his shoulders. It felt too much like Roman. He moved away. Virgil looked back at Remus. He'd told the Dragon Witch his color. Did Remus know yet? What would happen when he did? Had he hurt Roman or Logan when they'd fought?

You did not. Logan's voice came through clear in Virgil's mind.

Logan?

Your panic alerted me. I am glad you are awake. I am currently stuck at home, but I promise, you did not hurt anyone. Roman had not left your side until this morning. No one hates you.

Virgil felt the tears fall as Logan's buzz left his mind, and Remus walked over to the entrance. Patton gave him space, not touching Virgil as the ranger cried.

"Patton." Virgil sniffled after a moment. "Janus."

"Yeah?"

"What is it, kiddo?"
