Pov Nobody
Y/n and her partner, Alex, decided to take a late-night walk along the river, the moon casting a silver glow on the water. The quiet night was abruptly shattered by a low, guttural growl. Before they could react, a bloodthirsty monster, a grotesque creature with razor-sharp claws and glowing red eyes, emerged from the shadows.
The monster attacked with terrifying speed, focusing its fury on Alex. Y/n screamed as the creature brutally beat Alex, the sickening sound of bones cracking echoing through the night as Alex's bloodied face was pummeled repeatedly. Helpless on the ground, Alex's pleas for mercy were drowned out by the monster's relentless assault.
With a savage snarl, the creature grabbed Alex and hurled him over the bridge, intending to finish him off. Y/n watched in horror as Alex fell, hitting the water with a splash. Moments later, the monster dove in after him. Y/n stumbled to the edge of the bridge, her heart pounding in her chest. She caught a glimpse of the creature surfacing with a large chunk of Alex's upper body in its mouth. Blood dripped from the beast's jaws as it held the gruesome prize for a few seconds before disappearing into the depths.
The next morning, the scene was swarming with police and investigators. Y/n, still in shock, gave her statement. As she finished, a familiar figure approached: Deadpool, dressed in his signature red and black suit, looking both amused and annoyed.
"Well, if it isn't the scene of another gruesome murder. Lovely," Deadpool quipped, his tone incongruously light given the situation.
Y/n stared at him, trying to comprehend why a masked mercenary was at a crime scene. "Who are you?" she asked.
"Name's Deadpool. I'm here to help with the investigation. Not that I want to, mind you, but apparently, there's something bigger going on here," he replied, rolling his eyes. "And, as if things couldn't get worse, I'm stuck working with Wolverine again. Guy's got a serious stick up his ass."
Y/n, too shocked to respond, simply nodded.
"Alright, so you saw the monster, huh?" Deadpool continued, getting down to business. "Ugly bastard with claws, teeth, the whole shebang?"
"Yes," Y/n said, her voice trembling. "It attacked Alex... it was horrible."
"Yeah, sounds like a real party. But don't worry, Y/n, we're gonna track this thing down and make sure it pays for what it did," Deadpool said, his tone more serious now. "Let's get moving. We've got a monster to hunt."
As they began their investigation, Deadpool's constant complaints about working with Wolverine provided a strange sense of normalcy amidst the horror.
"Can you believe that guy? Thinks he's so tough with his claws and brooding attitude. Ugh," Deadpool grumbled.
Despite his gripes, Deadpool was relentless in his pursuit of the creature. Y/n found herself oddly comforted by his presence. Together, they followed a trail of clues, each step bringing them closer to the monster's lair.
In an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of the city, they finally confronted the beast. The fight was brutal. Deadpool's regenerative abilities were pushed to their limits as he battled the creature, his trademark wit never far from his lips even as he traded blows with the monster.
"Is that all you got, motherfucker? I've had worse from a hangover!" Deadpool taunted, dodging a swipe from the creature's claws.
Y/n, armed with a makeshift weapon, did her best to assist, her fear giving way to determination. With a final, decisive strike, Deadpool severed the creature's head, the body collapsing in a heap.
"Well, that was fun. Not," Deadpool said, panting slightly. "But we did it. You did good, Y/n."
Y/n looked at the fallen creature, relief washing over her. "Thank you, Deadpool."
"Hey, no problem. Just another day in the life of your friendly neighborhood mercenary," Deadpool replied with a wink. "Now, let's get out of here. And if anyone asks, tell them Wolverine was useless as usual."
As they walked away from the scene, Y/n couldn't help but smile at Deadpool's irreverent humor. Despite the horrors she had witnessed, she knew she was in good hands.
