Pov Nobody
The heavy air in Hell crackled with tension as Lilith stood at the heart of the infernal realm, the ancient artifact clutched in her hand. The weight of her decision pressed down on her, but her resolve remained firm. The artifact, a relic of divine judgment, pulsed with an ominous glow, ready to unleash its devastating power.
Charlie, her eyes wide with desperation, stood opposite her mother, the pain of their argument still fresh in her heart. The remnants of the Hazbin Hotel loomed in the background, a symbol of Charlie's failed dream to redeem Hell's damned souls.
"Mom, please!" Charlie's voice trembled, but she tried to steady it. "You don't have to do this! We can still find another way—together!"
Lilith's expression hardened. The years of frustration, of watching her daughter's fruitless attempts to save a world that had long been condemned, had built a wall around her heart. She had once admired Charlie's optimism, but now she saw it as naivety—a dangerous weakness.
"Charlie, it's too late for that," Lilith said, her voice cold and distant. "This is the only way to secure our future, my future, in Heaven. Hell is beyond saving. You've seen it yourself. Your dream—it's a fantasy."
"No, it's not!" Charlie insisted, her hands trembling as she reached out towards Lilith. "I've seen the good in them, the potential for change. We can't just erase them!"
Lilith's eyes softened for a moment, the ghost of the mother she once was flickering behind her steely gaze. But that flicker was quickly extinguished by her overwhelming sense of duty and ambition. She stepped back, raising the artifact.
"Your belief in them is what's destroying you, Charlie," Lilith whispered, her voice laced with a sad finality. "This is for the best—for both of us."
Charlie's heart pounded in her chest, a mixture of fear and fury bubbling up within her. She couldn't let this happen. She wouldn't let her mother destroy everything she had worked for, everything she believed in. But as she lunged forward, hoping to wrest the artifact from Lilith's grasp, her mother's power surged, creating an invisible barrier that sent Charlie sprawling back.
"You're not strong enough to stop me, Charlie," Lilith said, her tone almost apologetic. "And even if you were... you wouldn't understand."
Tears welled in Charlie's eyes as she scrambled to her feet. "No, Mom, it's you who doesn't understand! You're so blinded by what Heaven promised you that you can't see what you're about to do—what you're about to lose!"
Lilith hesitated, the artifact pulsating with a growing intensity, sensing its impending use. The conflict within her was palpable, but she forced herself to focus on what she believed was necessary. She had come too far to turn back now.
"I've already lost too much," Lilith murmured, more to herself than to Charlie. "This... this is the only way to ensure we don't lose everything."
Charlie's breath caught in her throat as she saw the resolve in her mother's eyes solidify once more. "Mom, please... don't do this. I love you. I need you."
